Casey was a bit picky with kibbles but will only eat raw now. It's a bit gross serving raw food but he loves it and it seems to be doing him good.
You could try some NatureMenu from Pets at Home to see how they get on. It is frozen so has to thawed before use. Chicken and tripe mince goes down very well. They also do a dry mixer for fruit & veg so you can give a more balanced diet. It's not expensive so my be worth a go.

Belle is recovering very well. Although she had to have surgery on her mouth and have 4 teeth out, vet is happy with the way the leg wound is repairing itself on its own so holding off on surgery on that for the moment. She will have bandages applied and flush out done by vets in the meantime every 3 days, until it can be treated as an 'open' wound and then she will have manuka honey put on wound.

Belle had a very bad accident on Monday where she tore her leg down to the bone and also broke teeth climbing over a gate in our garden. She lost loads of blood and is now under vetinary care in the day time. There is no way she will wear one of those lampshades after surgery which maybe tomorrow, but she certainly will be having a dental. Does anybody have one of those donut collars that I could borrow? Please could you leave at daybreaks if you have and I can collect Saturday. xxxx

Hi there. Our Lola had a tumour on one of her toes. I honestly don't know what type of tumour if was but the histology showed it was benign. Due to where it was, the vet couldn't remove the tumour so the toe was amputated. The originally vet feared it was something more nasty than it turned out to be, and didn't recommend testing it first in case it made it spread. Lola's tumour was ulcerating and weeping so for us having it removed was the only option.
Hope Belle is ok and you must trust yourself to make the right decision for her. Good luck and let us know how she gets on. xx

Hi Michelle - Belle and Bess had a great time. Belle rolled in some fox poo or something which smelt really bad, so we gave her a shower when we got home, she had her tea and then we didn't have a peep out of her or her sister for the rest of the evening night!! Dog socialisation and a good run - brilliant combination xxxxxxx

Sadly, after kids have wrecked the dis-used tennis courts at Kings Heath Park by playing football in there, B'ham City Council have now took one side of the fencing down. This means that my Belle & Bess currently have nowhere to go for a good safe run. Does anybody know of any other fields, dis-used tennis courts or anything of that nature. Any area really, as we are prepared to travel. Cheers x

Took Belle back for her check-up last night. Vet doesn't seem worried, I think all should be OK now and she has completed her course of antibiotics. £80 light though... I could of bought her and her sister 2 bags of Burns with that! A pitfall of being a dog lover I guess. xx

Thanks for your comments. @Foggie I don't think you can ever be too fussy. I have been told I spoil mine too much, but I don't care, they are my dogs and while I have them I will give them everything I possibly can to make sure they have a good life. Their skin can damaged quite easily so Yes @Kai&Danny'smum sounds like we both have experienced same thing.

Misty had something similar when we collected her from her holiday kennels the other week. Douglas stroked her side as normal and she really yelped. Then I was convinced there was a slight swelling over her ribs. I was expecting the worst but the vet said it was probably bruising from knocking into something. She responded to previcox treatment and now is as right as rain thank goodness. I was worried that the vet would think I was a 'fussy mum' but felt better for getting it checked out.

Hi, I had the exact same thing with Danny, I think maybe he caught his side on a table whilst jumping on and off the sofa, it filled up with fluid and he too had to have it drained and was on antibiotics for a week. It soon cleared, nothing has ever come back and you would never know that it had happened.

How worrying. I hope the antibiotics sort her out. I know how you must feel - had similar experience recently with one of my girls. Fingers and toes crossed that everything improves when she is checked next week. x

We disovered a lump on our Belle's side on Saturday, took her to a skin specialist at the Vets yesterday who thankfully advised that the lump probably developed due to trauma, i.e a knock or a bump during play etc. The Vet drew fluid out of the lump through a needle and Belle is now on a week course of antibiotics and due to return for a check up next week. It was rather concerning, but I count my blessings that it was nothing serious.

Hi, As far as I know they're going ahead. They have a break for 2 weeks over Easter, and we've been on holiday since so haven't been ourselves for a few weeks. Have you phoned Carole or Yvonne who run the classes? Their numbers are on the Daybreaks home page - click on the link to Wednesday training classes. Hope this helps.

Belle has made a marvellous recovery from her spey yesterday, no problems atall, you wouldn't think she has had an op. Won't take her for a walk till Monday though, which the vet has advised. Thanks to Ruth for the loan of the donut, apparently Belle got the cone off several times whilst at the vets, so good job we have it! Met Dexter and Laddy who are lovely, well, let's face it all the dogs are. xxxx

Belle has had a lovely holiday at the seaside with her sister, Mum and Dad. I'm not sure if she has ever been on holiday before but loved it. Paddling in the sea, running on the beach, snoozing in the pubs, munching on cream teas and ice creams. People say she's spoilt, yep she is, she's my dog, I love her and I will spoil her! xxx

Pleased to say that both Bess & Belle have now mastered the full art of using the dog flap properly. We was previously at the stage of hanging a tea towel over the flap (with flap taped up) which although still gave them freedom to toilet, could be a bit chilly. Hello to a warm clean house when I come home from work - Well done girls. Belle is now 'on heat' so watching the little minx very carefully. I've read into it on the internet, but if anybody has any tips or advice on when bitches are in season, I'm all ears. Thanks xx

Belle and Bess both seem to fine. They had a light dinner of chicken and rice last night and was clean over night. I have confined them to a smaller area today whilst I'm at work, they still have plenty of room to relax and play, heating on, tv on, rawhide each, now be good girls!! xx

Has to have them both be made to vomit at vets we could see if it was one or both of them who had a choccy feast. I am so pleased to see her rehomed. I wish you the best of luck with the aniety problems and can assure you it's worth all the hard work.
She certainly has a better chance now than that which the lowlifes that chucked her out of the van in Coventry offered her!

Is this our 'Coventry Highway girl'
I remember the phonecall on the morning of the Solihull dogshow. Although she has had an awful start in life she was very lucky to have been found by such caring people and finding a wonderful forever home.

This abandoned young lady has been with us for nearly 5wks(officially adopted her last weekend). Although she suffers with a bit of seperation anxiety, I am working very hard wth her to help her overcome it. I think with a bit of time patience and effort she will be a little star. We don't know her background but can only give her the best life and love possible as we do with my 'first' Bess.
