So Long, Farewell

by Shanesmum

21-Aug-2024

As you know, Ruth stepped down as manager at Daybreaks at the end of June and continued as Assistant Manager. Sadly she will now be leaving us at the end of August.
Everyone involved with the kennels, and of course all the gorgeous Greys, will be so sad to see her go but wish her all the very best in her new life in Devon. Everyone is welcome to join us to say goodbye with tea and cakes on Bank Holiday Monday from 1pm to 4pm, in the sand run, parking at Birmingham Exiles Rugby Club.

Apologies for the delay in posting this. My last day officially at Daybreaks was on Monday - I moved to Devon Tuesday and started a new job on Wednesday and my feet haven’t touched the ground!!!

I’ll always be forever grateful to Tara (Daybreaks Beauty) my first greyhound for compelling me to help more like her which started me on my journey of setting up the kennels and in turn the charity which enabled Daybreaks to become independent. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of all the volunteers and trustees (past and present) especially remembering Pam Dewar who told me I could do it!!!!

Thank you to all those who have supported my roller coaster of a journey since setting it up in July 2006.

I’m incredibly grateful to Kate for being a massive part - please look after her and also to the amazing dedicated volunteers and Trustees we have now to enable Daybreaks to keep moving forward.

My last day was incredibly emotional saying goodbyes but as you know I’ll be back soon to volunteer and continue to be involved. I have some amazing friendships because of Daybreaks- thank you to everyone for the gifts, support and love I felt. I’m truly blessed. XxxxX
