Give us a call or email, come down and visit us. We will have a chat (usually over coffee). During our conversation, we will explore your interests, skills, and how you can make a meaningful contribution to our cause. No matter your background or experience level, there’s a place for you in our community. We will discuss what you would like from the Volunteering role and whether we have availability.

We are fortunate to have dedicated Volunteers who contribute in various ways, with some available for the entire day and others for part of it.

Here are some of the roles our Volunteers undertake:

• Feeding: Dogs are fed at approximately 9am and 3pm.
• Walking: Greyhounds are walked twice daily, with walks scheduled around 10.30am and 2pm.
• Training: Volunteers can assist with socialisation and training of Greyhounds using positive reward-based techniques.
• Enrichment: Every day at lunchtime, Greyhounds enjoy enrichment activities including puzzle feeders, games, and interactive play.
• Health and Welfare: Each Greyhound receives daily grooming and teeth cleaning.
• Additionally, dogs are weighed every 5 days and undergo a comprehensive health check every 10 days.
• Cleaning: Kennels and runs are cleaned daily

Anyone aged 18 or over can apply to Volunteer. We do accept college work placements from students over the age of 16.

Certainly! Besides working in the kennels, there are other ways to contribute. You can assist with administrative tasks, office work, site maintenance, driving and running errands. We also welcome any budding photographers who can take snapshots of our lovely dogs.

We believe in the power of teamwork! Large groups of Volunteers can accomplish great things and create a significant impact. As a small site, we may have limitations on the amount of hands-on dog related work we can provide for a large group. However, there are always opportunities for additional help on site and numerous ways for groups of Volunteers to have a fulfilling experience while making a valuable difference.
