Our handsome Monty is still waiting for his perfect home. After his previous home sadly didn't work out, he has been back with us since May. He originally arrived last October 2023...
He is a very intelligent, happy boy, who absolutely loves to lean and is very affectionate. He enjoys going for a walk, is good on the lead, but he is a big lad and he can sometimes be quite strong.
Monty would be happy in a home without young children. He is very playful and he loves toys, especially squeakys but he is not keen on sharing them. Xxx
It would be wonderful to see him find his forever home. Xxx

Monty hugs are most definitely a lovely way to start your day. Kate said it reminded her of the iconic moment from “Dirty Dancing” except there was no way I was going to lift him up above my head!!!!

Monty gave Angie a huge hug this morning! He was on his way back to his kennel after his breakfast and couldn't resist saying Hello to her. :)
He is a big lad and with his paws on Angie's shoulders, he was much taller than she was. A lovely way to start the day! :)) Xxx

Monty came to visit us yesterday. He brought with him treats for our current Daybreaks guests...Egg Custards to help him to celebrate his Birthday! :)) Well, it was a bonkers day and I forgot all about those scrummy cakes sitting in the fridge....so our boys and girls had them today. They loved them! Thank you so much to Monty. Xxx
I kept quiet when I got home tonight, Skip didn't come with me to the kennels today, he would be so gutted to have missed out on his favourite treat! Xxx Sorry my darling. Xxx

I must say you were an absolute pleasure to take to Elmdon Park today.
You travelled perfectly in the car and although still very strong on the lead you were an absolute gentleman when surrounded by around 6 or 7 small dogs who gathered around you

Monty was getting a little jelous yesterday when I visited the kennels. I was in with Gino and out the blue Monty decided to get a bit noisey by letting me know he wanted me to go and see him too. And I wouldn't miss a dog out for a visit and cuddle. So it was his turn next. Bless him...

Shirley was grooming one of the dogs and had hung their coat over the bars of the adjacent run. Well, Monty happened to be next door, he couldn't resist trying very gently to pull the coat through to his side without anyone noticing! He was caught in the act but showed no remorse, just wagged his tail. :)) Xxx

Coming to meet Monty for the second time on Sunday, hoping my dog and him get on as Monty is a lovely boy ?? fingers crossed!

Monty donated blood to the Pet Blood Bank for the second time today. :)) Sue, our new volunteer went into the Mobile Blood Bank van with him. She said he was very keen to sample all of the treats on offer!
When the team were leaving this afternoon, the vet told me Monty had been her favourite donor today! :))
It would be great if the next time they visit us, Monty came back to donate with his family as a pet dog. Lots of love to our handsome lad. Xxx

Our lovely Monty is still waiting for his forever home....others have arrived after him and have already gone home. He is so very affectionate and has so much love to give. I'm sure there is a sofa with a Monty sized space waiting for him. :) Xxx

We loved having Monty over the Christmas period. Although he had never been in a home before he soon learnt he needed to go in the garden to toilet. He loved a cuddle and soon made himself at home on the sofa. Monty walked well and was interested in other dogs but showed no aggression. He is strong but listened to commands and walked well. Monty be will make a really loving, funny pet and we really hope he finds a home soon xx

Saw this beautiful boy today my first visit to the kennels, who ever manages to adopt him would be never short of affection 24-7.

If you are looking for a lad who can help with the housework, Monty is the one for you! He is very good at collecting the blankets from the top of the feeding runs...at present he throws them on the floor, but I'm sure with a little practice he could put them into a washing basket! :)) He is a very happy lad, who always makes you smile. Xxx

Collected Monty today and took him to Brueton Park. He was a little unsure where he was going as we hadn't taken him out before and had to be lifted into the car and out at the park. Once there he took us for a lovely walk! He wanted to have a look everywhere and just wanted to play with other dogs. He was not fazed by people or children. He is a beautiful boy, very loving with bundles of energy. Looking forward to taking him out again soon xx

We have a visit booked in for Saturday morning. I’m hoping I get to meet this handsome chap so I can give him a real cuddle

Sadly Monty has been unreserved today.

This lad today was amazing. As I walked in to the kennels, I believe, his new owners were visiting him. The young girl was so excited to see him and to be holding his lead in the correct way. Monty even jumped up Kate to say hello, he then got a treat off Kate and the girl. He is an amazing kind hound...

So happy for Monty! He is a gorgeous, happy and affectionate lad. Loves to give you cuddles! :)) Xxx

Monty is a very strong and exuberant walker,
as I found out today as he took me around Elmdon Park!!! To be fair he did slow down after the first 7000 steps !!!
He's a very friendly lad with a lovely nature.
He met other breeds of all sizes without any show of aggression although at close quarters there was an element of curiosity but I'm sure in time he will relax more around other breeds
I think he will be best suited to an active house who are prepared for an energetic dog

I met Monty today! What a very handsome, stunning lad! He is a happy, big boy...all the more to cuddle! :)) xxx
