Today (apart from being sleepy due to his tablets) he is back to his normal self. Asking for treats, stealing dad’s food and wanting fuss. He has mastered going to the toilet too! He greeted me after college yesterday!

NEW YEAR - NEW LOOK FOR THE HONESTY BOX We wanted to let our wonderful supporters know that we’ve recently reorganised our Honesty Box for 2026. Going forward, it will now contain large-dog–related goods only' As part of this change, we’ll no longer be accepting human products or bric-a-brac. We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has so kindly donated items or made purchases from the Honesty Box in the past – your support has truly meant a lot to us. To help avoid any uncertainty, we’ve also added suggested donation prices to the items. We know some people worry about whether they’re giving enough, so we hope this makes things clearer and more comfortable for everyone. Thank you, as always, for supporting Daybreaks Trust. We hope you’ll continue to support us by donating dog-related items to the Honesty Box and purchasing goods from it in the future. Your support helps us continue our work for greyhounds in need

Hi everyone, little update on Monty. His procedure went really well, no concerns. On recovery and brining him home he was very uncomfortable so he had an overnight stay at Willow’s. He has today come back home as he is really stressed in the kennel, he is petrified. So as I’m a veterinary professional I’ve been directed to give him pain meds at home so he is on good stuff and he is coping much better. He is now quiet and settled at home. He has eaten some chicken and also had a wee for the first time earlier. He is such a strong boy 🩵🩵

We just wanted to let everyone know that Monty was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma yesterday. We were recommended amputation due to his good health and how happy he is. He is a warrior, eating normally and still powering on. He is booked in for Monday to have this done so please pray for him. We know we still don’t have long with him but we will make sure he is happy right until the end. It’s been the best 4 and half years with him. Hopefully we get a few more great months. We love you Monty and we are so sorry you are going through this. We are so very unlucky 🙁

Happy Christmas and now New Year mommy's gorgeous boy! I'm so sorry I didn't write Christmas day, please don't ever think I've forgotten you, you were at the front of my mind all day thinking 'this is what Jet would have done', 'Jet would have come here'...this is constant in my daily life to be fair, you're never out of my thoughts for more than an hour! Miss you so much every single day and makes it harder over Christmas period where you were always involved in everything we did, I miss my shadow standing next to me and would do anything to have you back. Love you beyond words forever and always, mommy xxx

  • Cody

    I’m Fostered

Cody has spent Christmas with us and our gang (4 greyhounds and a terrier thingy). She’s now up to 20 minute walks most days but I’ve learned that she needs the support of one of my other, confident dogs (so not flitty, Kitty!). With Pedro (age 12) she walks much better than on her own where the whole world outside is a big scary place. She still stops and looks at things but will now easily set off again. She’s much, much more confident with cars and bikes than she was when she first came and even squeaks to see other dogs on their walks. We still have a bit of jumping on the lead toward the end of a walk if we’ve been out for too long so the trick is to keep the duration of a walk within her stress threshold. Cody needs a home in a quiet area and to live with one other confident dog to help continue her development. And a BIG tv. And a nice sofa! It will be a long, slow process until she’s completely happy with the big wide world but she will be such a treasure for whoever is lucky enough to decide they have a TV and sofa waiting for Cody when she finally comes all the way out of her shell.
