  • Gino

    I’m Available

I fostered Gino during Christmas, he's an absolutely lovely boy, perfect in every way! Gino had the choice to go anywhere in the apartment but he decided to stay with me in my room and sleep next to me in my bed, what is yours is his! ❤️. Gino loves nothing more than having a nice run around then cuddling up to his favourite people after a nice meal, he isn't a big fan of tinned meat chunks but loves anything that's similar to pate trays! Gino loves absolutely everyone and wants to say hi to everyone he sees but he dosen't really like other dogs and will need someone strong who is able to hold him just in case he gets a bit reactive, but with plenty of treats even in the span on the two weeks I had him he made friends with a bulldog and started to ignore other breeds! I believe he would get along with a girl with a lot of introductions. He learns very fast, is easy to train, has no accidents and loves the occasional long walk, the smart boy will tell you exactly when he's finished with his walks! Make sure to give him extra love during fireworks and loud winds as he's very nervous and may pace around the house. Lastly, Gino was great when he met kids of all ages and energies, but he was not a big fan of being left alone, with time and patience he will learn to stay alone for longer periods of time but he needs someone who can spend as much time with him as possible! He is the sweetest boy and will love you just as much as you love him 💕

Hi Maggie, Unfortunately, we no longer have cat-testing facilities at Daybreaks so we can't confirm whether he would be cat friendly. Please give the kennels a call to discuss going on a waiting list. Look forward to hearing from you, Daybreaks Staff

    I’m Homed

Hi, I spoke with Kate today about the possibility of Poppy looking for her forever home and she was unsure whether Poppy would be staying with her foster family. We would love to have her having had to say goodbye to our Mysty girl tonight after adopting her 10 years ago. Would love to know if she will be available. Phil

    I’m Homed

Poppy’s confidence is slowly growing. She will sometimes take treats from my hand when I’m standing near her, but will always now take them if I’m sitting down. She is starting to play but only by herself - it’s too scary if we join in. She can now jump out of the car but not into it - she looks at me expectantly as if me lifting her in to the car is the way it should be done!

    I’m Homed

Oh my Jetsy, I am so sorry I didn't write on your wall yesterday for Christmas, this new website is confusing me! I hope you had a wonderful rainbow bridge Christmas, unfortunately with your 2 cousins this year, but hope you all had lots of fun together and watched over all of us who miss you so very much. Just because I didn't write yesterday does not mean I forgot you, you were the 1st thing I thought of when I woke whilst cuddling your collar and last thing I thought of before sleep, again cuddling your collar. Christmas's will never be the same without you and all day I was thinking what you would have been doing with us. Love you so so much my precious angel, with all my heart as always, mommy xxx

  • Timmy

    I’m Fostered

I have had Timmy home with me for a week now and he is absolutely adorable. He happily hops into the car and travels well. He is excellent on the lead and has been non reactive with other breeds of dogs large and small. He has met my friends 4 year old son and was really gentle with him. He has been completely clean in the house and has enjoyed his cuddles and treats. I have a secure area at home so Timmy has had quite a lot of freedom, but he prefers to stick with me and have me in his sight. He can be quite timid when he meets new people, but once he trusts you, he is happy to accept cuddles. He is very calm and gentle, so if this kind of temperament is for you, he will make the most perfect companion.

    I’m Homed

We brought this little poppet home on foster 2 days ago so she could learn from our two, 14 year old Snip and 5 year old Boycie, what it’s like to live in a house. She is so nervous, but this evening let me stroke her tummy and then closed her eyes - it’s always so wonderful when they start to trust. Paul taught her how to do the stairs today so now she can go up and down whenever the others do - she loves being wherever they are, or maybe just where Boycie is!

    I’m Homed

It’s Boycie’s first gotcha day today. Officially it’s when we brought him home on foster to check he got on ok with Hope and Snip but we’ve never had a dog that hasn’t fitted in, even if it’s taken some time, and we have fostered lots over the years. He settled in straight away and I can’t believe it’s already been a year. He’s a gorgeous, loving, happy galumph and we love him xxx
