Eli (Buster)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Eli’s mum called to say they very sadly have had to let Eli go to Rainbow Bridge. They are all heartbroken, Eli was the most beautiful Greyhound, inside and out. A gentle soul. Best friend to them all and an extra special big brother to Faith. They will all miss him so very much. Xxx We are so grateful to them for giving him a wonderful, happy life. I brought Lady home a week ago on foster, to start to learn the ways of the big wide world and find out what she can and can’t do. Also to learn what living in a home is like from our two greys Boycie and Poppy. She’s doing really well - no problem at all living with our two, worked out the stairs within a couple of hours and subsequently found our bed! She is a quick learner and now knows she can’t stay on the bed at night-time and has learned the words “have a wee”, although does need encouragement to do this outside. She generally has a wee during her mealtimes so we are feeding her outside as the weather is good and then she stays out for a wee. She has met other dogs on our walks and is interested but not to chase them, and was fine when some children aged between about 6 and 12 wanted to say hello - not at all phased by having 3 of them around her. The main problem is she just stops on a walk, often for no apparent reason. It can be to watch something which she does till it disappears from sight, but I can get her attention back with a little whistle and then she walks on; but when we’re near home, she becomes stubborn and walks when she’s ready, sometimes to catch up with our dogs and other times when I encourage her towards me by walking a few steps backwards. I think I’ll find out more over the next week that we’ll have her until she goes back to the kennels when we go away. We think she’ll need to have company a lot of the time as she loves people and fuss, and maybe another dog or two to encourage her to keep walking. Whoever offers their forever sofa will need to have patience but as Lady is clever, she will learn and will be rewarding and a wonderful member of the family.

Happy heavenly 15th birthday mommy's most gorgeous boy! Wish you were still here with us celebrating your birthday, but hope you've had a blast up there with all your cousins and friends!
