Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi all, I thought I would comment on our gorgeous boy Podge's page, as unfortunately today he lost his battle with an aggressive lymphoma. He originally got poorly in June, and after lots of tests, almost 13kg in weight-loss and many expensive vet bills ~ he was diagnosed with a low-grade lymphoma in his gut. Sadly, no-one expected it to actually be a very nasty, fast-moving disease. Despite two additional happy months where he responded really well to treatment, he suddenly became very poorly again on Thursday, and heartbreakingly letting him rest became the fairest and kindest option. We are so pleased we got to love this special boy for nine wonderful months. He was such a character, and made our lives so much better. He leaves behind a legacy of many un-opened sardine tins and a huge love and desire to rescue more lovely Grey's. Thank you to the team for letting us show him what it was like to be a 'real' dog, and be loved. <strong>❤️❤️❤️</strong><span> - Charlotte & Paddy</span>

Daybreaks Diary!

It was a joy to be able to venture outside this morning without sizzling!!! Honestly, I can’t recall a time when we’ve had so much ridiculously hot weather 🥵- it’s been a real challenge at times to keep both ourselves and our hounds comfortable. After some recent homings we were down to 7 residents today, so a bit less pressure 😀 Whilst all our boys & girls are lovely, I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for the very handsome Jag. Such a fuss monster, he rests his head on your arm and looks longingly at you, delighting in being around a human. Lady is doing so well now, but absolutely hates going back into her kennel bless her - she plants her feet and sometimes even a tasty treat won’t entice her back! She really needs to be out in a home of her own where she can settle in, be a part of a family and tackle the world at her own pace ❤️ The year is flying by, is it just me or does it feel like there aren’t as many hours in the day as there used to be 😂! Summer is cracking on and Autumn is just around the corner - I must be getting old!!! Have a good weekend one and all, keep cool and safe and give your hounds a hug - they deserve it 😍 Angie x
