    I’m Homed

Update on Flloyd. He has settled in and adjusted so well and his true character is definately coming out now! We have had a couple of countersurfing incidents, but if temptation is left in the way, hey ho, can't say I haven't warned everyone. The second such episode involved a very well devised pincer movement. Flloyd reaching the food and pulling it down on to the floor from the back of the worktop, followed by his accomplice Max picking up and running off with the spoils, resulting being chased around the house to recover the item, which then had to be shared between Sarah and Willow as well as the 2 culprits. He has such a big character for such a small boy! He is clean in the house, sleeps through, eats like a horse (well small pony) and loves everyone, his short tail doesn't stop wagging. Hormones must be settling down now after his op as Willow is no longer having to guard her rear end as much! It is like he has been here forever. x

Hi Bookworm. So so happy to see your rehoming photo. We have Tess, who your son walked at Brueton Park. I'm so delighted that you fell in love with Sheila/Layla. My girls gave a big 'yippee' when they saw your photo. Good luck & hope to see you on a future walk. Xx

We have Jato who is a nervy little girl , men, men with beards, bikes, wind, Children!!, that's her biggest one. But she walks far better when with the other two, they sense her stress and will close in on each side of her. We have had her 12 months but she still lies on her bed if someone she isn't sure about comes in. Time is all Dolly needs - just like Our little Jato. Xxx

Hi Morris Our girlie Ele was spooked by traffic when we first had her ..she was much better with a harness as you can keep them closer to you on a short lead and they feel more secure plus you have more control should they become scared Everything must be so scary for them when theyve never seen the post racing world 🙁 Keep up your good work with her She will get better x x

This isn't entirely unheard of we definitely know of other greyhounds who have had similar troubles. Dolly may just need patience and reassurance to help her through this while she adjusts to her new environment. Don't forget that help is always at hand if you should need it. Linda & Paul x

We also have a black Dolly, and she was a bit nervy, she slipped her collar couple times so we invested in a harness just to be safe, might be something worth considering if you haven't already.

Barney you so remind me of our first hound Don who is very much missed. You will find lots of TLC at Daybreaks so no need to worry. Anyway being such a lovely handsome lad I think you will be on a sofa being spoilt before you know it xx

Don't be downhearted, I think that Dolly will get used to all these new things in time and that the love you have for her will help her through. Love is the most important thing for her, and for all of them.

Thanks everyone. He is settling in really well. He has been amazing for us all. Both my twins have a disability and my daughter has severe anxiety related to her condition. In just two days he has turned her life around. She is so calm with him around.

Dolly slept well Saturday night she didn't try to clime the stairs choosing to sleep in the hall on her bed Brian got up a few times in the night to check on her and let her out . I was created sunday morning with lots of love and cuddles then we all went out for a lovely walk our 2 other dogs were off lesd as usual getting on with there business dolly on lesd looking around everywhere taking no notice of Alfie and Ollie darting about . She did get scared going home with the sound of the traffic stopping at 1 point refusing to walk she needed a little reassurance and we was all back home . Dolly is still cautious of Alfie and Ollie in the house because they have shown her a little dominance with a few growls and barking which frightened Dolly we are gently encouraging them to come together for little looks and a sniff but letting Dolly control this . She is eating and drinking well out in the out house while Alfie and Ollie eat in the kitchen. She seems quite happy to be sleeping on her bed and welcomes lots of cuddles from us . She really is a lovely girl xxx

    I’m Homed

Ok so today I go out in the car and we drive for ages.... Well not as far as Wales but we kept passing all my usual walking spots and so many places that smelt interesting. When we stopped we were at a really really big big park and there were lots and lots of other greyhounds. I saw a bunzie and thought 'this is it - my time has come' however once we started walking I didn't see any more! It was a really long walk and mom was in a lot of pain by the end but she and TC loved it. Mom borrowed River to walk and I walked with TC. I met Zebadee and Jimmy again - we'd met at the kennels - and mom said how lovely they both were and she hopes they get sofas soon. I hope so too and that their sofa is as good as mine! Best bit - I got a whole sausage at the end!!! Florence xx
