This morning after breakfast Breeze managed to break a toe, playing zoomies with Jato. We were in the vets before 9am. But as she had just eaten and isn't happy at the vets they bandaged her and we came home. This afternoon I dropped her for an X-ray, she is home with a purple bandage and orders to take it easy. Xxx

Judy
I’m Homed
Shy foster girl Judy has today attended her first greyhound awareness event by helping to sell scratch cards at Pets at Homes(Stratford) Charity day with current home companion Fred. After initial shyness she gradually became more confident and by the end of the 4 hour event she was accepting all the fuss and cuddles that were coming her way. Again all we can do is request that any prospective possible future adopter give this very loving girl the time to overcome her initial nervousness and then be able to show her true loving nature to its full extent.

I hope that Lottie got on well at the vets. I'm sure that she's more than made up for the lack of breakfast yesterday too!

Gracie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
What a week! Three days on holiday at a lovely dog friendly hotel (it was actually a castle), in Brecon which provided sausgaes for the dogs at breakfast. In fact the dogs got their sausages, before before the humans got their breakfast! Needless to say, someone did not want to leave the dining room. Literally, we had to use another sausage to bribe her out of there! Gracie has been unsure of little dogs, which has been a work in progress, since we've had her, but while we were away, there were all sorts of dogs, and all size of dogs, and she was absolutely golden. No Staring, growling or snapping whatsoever. The castle cat was a different matter, but maybe we'll forget that bit! Then, tonight at training, Gracie passed her Bronze Good Citizen. What a way to end a great week. Well done Grace, we're really proud of you!

How lovely to visit your grandma's place which probably means extra treats anyway! When you are 'official' you and your mum can wear lovely yellow tops! You might even decide to offer your services to other establishments but check out the quality of the refreshments first 😉 xx

Hi Linda, I already visit the care home where my grandma is living, it was seeing the joy I brought to the residents that gave mom the idea of PAT. She says I have to wait for the paperwork before I'm official - again I have no idea what this means! Mom will then see where else we can go. Lots of love. Florence xxx

Well done Florence I'm sure you will make a brilliant Pets As Therapy visitor assisted by your mum. You haven't said where you will be visiting but I hope you find it very rewarding and a special experience for those you meet. My own dear Lola was a PAT dog and she made a big difference to many of the care home residents and day centre visitors who were mainly battling dementia. You will no doubt make a big difference to all you meet xx

I was really surprised that Judy didn't make a fuss of her sister when they met in the Stratford walk. I really thought they would recognise each other. We did have a lovely walk. Xx

Benny is such a handsome friendly lad, but because he has spent his life in kennels he seems to struggle with learning that other breeds are out in the world. He would really benefit either going to training classes or someone taking him out the park so he can get used to other breeds and learn to get along with them. He really is a super lad, he just needs someone to take some time... xxx
