Lady gets the bravery award today..... the poor tot was bitten in the night by her kennel mate and I had to take her to the vets where she was stapled this morning. She is bright and now has a kennel to herself surrounded with toys. If only she could find a home... she has been here far too long 🙁

Well, today is my Super Stevie's 10th birthday, should be such a happy day....but....After starting to limp at the weekend we paid a visit to the vet on Monday, his left hock is quite swollen, he was given pain relief injection and booked in for x-rays yesterday under general anaesthetic. The results are not good, my worst fears were confirmed, well 99% confirmed, looks like bone cancer. He is now on pain relief and anti-inflammatory medications. He is starting to weight bare on his leg more this morning, and we have asked the vet to look at any further treatment that can be offered which we should have an update on on Saturday at his review. Hoping probably against all hope that they have got it wrong. I am sure that when he feels the time is right he will let us know. Until then we will give him all the best care and love we can. So we wish Stevie a very, very Happy Birthday, and as per tradition all 4 will have fish and chips for tea. Love you to the moon and back Stevie. xxxxxxx

Called into the kennels this afternoon to bring some fish and hopefully to meet the lovely Maggie. Had a lovely time with her for a cuddle and a play, she really is a sweetie, her tail never stopped wagging. Who ever gets to give her, a forever sofa is going to be really lucky. If I could have sneaked her out without Richard noticing I would have done. I'll just have to give her my cuddle on here.

Big thanks Norman for taking Lady out for the day. She is such a lovely girl who really deserves her chance now. I think on the evidence of today's trip out it shows she has lots to offer and will fit right in to that special forever home. Fingers crossed that she doesn't have to wait too much longer. As Daybreaks longest resident it is nice to sometimes get Lady out and about and have some time out of the kennels (comfy as they are). Today she has paid a visit to Roy and Michelles field in Snitterfield where she was able to run and play with Bertie Blade and Fred and enjoy all the sights and sounds of the countryside. In the adjacent field there were several dogs running free having their exercise. Lady took all that in her stride. Her behaviour while running and playing with the other 3 greys could not be faulted. Sadly the weather turned wet and very cold so we were forced reluctantly(!!)to the local pub where the log fire warmed both humans and greys alike. Again although her first pub visit she behaved well. After 4 months in kennels this attractive enigmatic girl with the best pointy ears you will ever see deserves to find her permanent home.
