Hi Bennysmom, it's so hard sometimes to have to let your head rule your heart 🙁 I am sure Luna had a lovely overnight stay with you. It's great to know she was such a good girl with the kitties! I am sure it won't be long before her forever home comes along, she is adorable! Xxx

How nice to read Banjos update. So pleased he seems to be settling well and gradually getting a bit more adventurous. You must live not far from us as we can see Barr Beacon from our house! Hope all continues to go well. xx

So sad to return Luna today. She is a perfect little girl. No problem with my five cats. Also good with all dogs she met. Didn't even show any interest in a squirrel running up the tree. Clean in the house and her whole body welcomes you when she sees you. She is an absolute delight and will be an asset to any home. Unfortunately I just can't afford an addition to my family. I forget that I'm now a pensioner!

Ditto re the housework! Thank you for the updates, it's lovely to read how you lovely hounds are settling in once you've found your forever home. Sounds like that Banger's helping you to settle in nicely, bless him! We rehomed your ex kennel pal Sam/banjo on Saturday, and he sends his love and just said 'you go, girl, woof!' Go figure! Good luck to you all xxx

I'm giving Ranger my cuddle today. I saw him at the kennels on Saturday and would have taken him home if we had more room! Such a beautiful looking boy and really friendly, the way he came running up to me for fuss whilst in the outdoor pen. He's so good looking I would have thought he'd be snapped up within days! Fingers crossed for him xxx

    I’m Homed

Hi all. Finally a chance to post an update, but first of all I'd like to thank JewelintheCrown for phoning earlier to see how the lovely Banjo is settling in. Well, where to start?! Saturday we put him beds in both downstairs rooms as well as the hall so he had a choice. He chose the hall so he could keep his eye on us but keep his distance. By last night he'd migrated into the lounge with us! We tried to get him up the stairs where more beds await, but he backed away. So it 's back to the old teaching them wide concrete steps by the Barr Beacon observatory first methinks, like we taught the first one! Funny how some greys master the stairs just by watching the others, yet others think 'yikes,'. Maybe the bigger dogs struggle more? And let's face it, Banjo's as big as a horse (almost,). Am glad to say he's eating really well, no potty accidents in the house, and is slowly but surely learning to trust us already. Today he actually let me give him some fuss, then brush his coat. He's shown no interest in jumping on the sofas like the girls do, and he's the perfect gentleman. He enjoys running down the garden with them and has been good on walks, tho he got frightened today when a male jogger ran towards him. He's truly gorgeous and I don't think it will be long before he learns the art of play and cheekiness from the girls! Will post again when I can - love and thanks to all xxx

Thank you for all your kind comments regarding Oscar. I am devastated but he didn't suffer, all happened very quickly vets think a brain haemorrhage. Taken far too soon, he was such a gorgeous boy. I am concentrating on making sure his friend Lady is coping OK

I met Ranger this morning when I went to lead him up for his walk. He was pretty excited to be going out on his walk but he was a lovely boy and after the first few over-excited steps on his walk, Andy said he walked along very nicely and was very well- behaved. Lovely boy x J

Lovely to meet this boy this morning. I don't think he was overkeen on traffic but he was a good boy on his walk. I also had cuddles with him after I'd taken Cally out as I walked past his kennel and he started wagging his tail at me so I popped in for a visit. He's a lovely boy and distant family of my own lad who has the same dad. I hope all goes well for this gorgeous boy - love his ears too! x J

I had the pleasure of taking this little girl for a walk this morning. She was taking everything in - including the activities on the Rugby Club - and was as good as gold. She was also more than happy for some attention and cuddles in her kennel afterwards. Gorgeous girl x J
