  • Brae

    I’m Homed

We turned up to kennels today to find out that everyone was going on the walk at Brueton Park and were asked to take Brae. She was very patient while we sorted the car out so we could take her over from Daybreaks and also obediently went for a wee before we got her in the car. She was a little bit stressed to begin with as we, and our car, were new to her but she did settle pretty quickly. When we got to the park, she was very keen to try to get to the front of the group, and fairly strong on the lead in that regard, but she was good with all the other dogs - greys and non-greys - and didn't pay any particular attention to the ducks on the water. Part way round the park, she eased off with the pulling and then was much calmer for the rest of the walk. When we'd done, she allowed us to wipe her feet off without any bother and then jumped up in the back of the car with me. She seemed a lovely girl and I hope she gets a home soon x J

Thank you Chappy for your company today on the Bruton Park walk. You were a little unsure at first but after a few minutes you soon settled and walked like a proper gentleman round the park,no interest in any non greyhounds. A bit unsure of of bikes but your confidence grew with everyone you met and you soon enjoyed any fuss that came your way. I am sure you will make a super pet for some lucky family and we hope it will be very soon xx

I took River in with the cats today. We spent ages with him and he showed some interest with movement but was fine with sniffing the cats and wandering around with them in the room. With initial caution I would think that he could live with cats.

I took Brae in to meet the cats today but sadly she was very interested! I thought she would do well as she has not reacted to my chickens and ducks but obviously the cats are far more exciting.

Tinsel has joined all the other Daybreaks dogs for our walk in Brueton Park today. She's a dog who doesnt really push herself forward with meeting people for the 1st time but I have found her to be exceptionally affectionate once she knows and trusts you. She's now been back at Daybreaks since Dec 17 th and hopefully her new home is not too far away. Her behaviour towards all she met today could not be faulted.

For the 2nd consecutive Sunday Glen has enjoyed a day out from Daybreaks by joining the 65 other dogs who came and had a very pleasant walk around Solihulls Brueton Park. As at Stratford last week he proved what a fabulous friendly dog he is with all who he meets. Most certainly he is ready to find his permanent home now as soon as that arrives.

  • Brae

    I’m Homed

Speaking from experience (with no bias at all!), no home is complete without a Brae! As our little Brae's half sister, if you have just half of her fun loving, mischievousness, cuddle monster giving, treat chomping personality, then you gorgeous Brae will make the most wonderful addition to any family. Sending you our biggest cuddle tonight beautiful girl, xxxx

Great photo of Bob! He had fun playing with the toys today...as well as the ball he tried desperately to pick a teddy up at the same time! He is such a lovely lad, very friendly and loves to lean. He gets my cuddle tonight. Xxx

  • Brae

    I’m Homed

Brae has been unreserved as the family feel it isn't the right thing to do at the moment. She really is the most perfect Greyhound (of course in my eyes!) She is shy until she knows you and then will let herself go and have a gentle play. She is house trained (I looked after her a year ago when she hurt her foot as a racer) and she is great with other breeds (during her rehab after her injury she was fostered by another volunteer who has deerhounds and she is great with other breeds in a park environment). She is quiet and will take herself away but also loves to be cuddled. If only I had room........
