Thanks Kate. So far he is being golden. Don't want to speak too soon but has still not tried the stairs. Would like to take his bed up tonight as the others sleep upstairs and he may be settled for his first night.

Thunder shirts work well too and Valerian. I think Pets at Home stock it. Let's hope it's wet tomorrow night xxx

I unfortunately spoke too soon have a very poorly Jed. It would appear that his lameness was not as first thought a corn but has now been isolated to his back lumbar sacral and could be an old racing injury. At the moment he is non weight bearing on his left hind, dosed up on a pain killer which has sent him on some sort of 'trip' he is completely spaced out and anti inflammatory's. If no improvement then an X-ray next week. Really worried about my lad.

So pleased to say Max came home and I put his bed down by the Christmas tree. After having a big wee in both the front and back garden he just plonked himself down on his bed. He has just demolished a huge bowl of dinner, Skinners with pasta and minced beef. Nothing left at all. Also had treats and biscuits. Now just the night to see what he is like as he has not even attempted the stairs yet, let's see how it goes.

All the Boswell greys are not only in the Boswell household hearts but in all our hearts always at Daybreaks. Without Tara Daybreaks wouldn't exist. You do a fantastic job and that's from all the volunteers. x

Just over a month has passed since I lost my precious Wispa. I miss her so much I ache. She is buried at the kennels along with the ashes of Tara, Holly, Shrew, Jess, Max, Basil, Annie, Freckles, Maggie and Georgie so they will always be close to me in the work I do at Daybreaks. Wonderful happy memories remain.....

Hi Lorraine. Lola is awful with fireworks and getting worse as she gets older too. We use essential oils to help her when things get bad round here. Specifically we use Valerian, Hemp and Hops for calming, though it's the Valerian we think she takes most. We just offer a sniff of the bottles and then place them nearby her. It seems to help Lola relax and as long as she's in a cosy place she copes better than without them. Paul knows more than me - he went on a workshop with Caroline Ingraham (Google her and you'll see what she does), if you've not got his number then Ruth and Kate have it or his ad will be in an old Grapevine if you have one. He'd be happy to talk to you I'm sure. Linda x PS we hear you met our neighbours in the park over Christmas.

What a very gorgeous boy Max is. We had a very wet and windy walk this morning and although he was a bit jumpy on the lead to start with (mind you, they all were - think the wind was freaking them out!) he soon settled and walked well. He was reluctant to go back into his kennel and refused his breakfast so is obviously feeling a little down at the moment. He loves cuddles and is very nice natured. I see he has now been fostered which is great. Hope he gets on well. xx
