All went well last night - they slept in their own rooms, but Charlie asked for the adjoining door to be left open!! Then about 8am this morning we were awoken by the pair of them rooing like a couple of ferals at the bottom of the stairs!! (Charlie is usually silent until we open his door!)

Yes, we have this one! We have tried & tried to get her to answer to Rusty, but to no avail! So we tried her racing name - Star & she came running! So at the moment she is 'Little Star'! She is very, very confident, bright as a button, happy, loving & not phased by anything! She has handled The Mouse & taken his bed! She has greeted everyone at the door, taken them to the studio, seen they are seated & then gone back into the front room, back on her bed! She has eaten & loved her breakfast, lunch & dinner! & gone on little walks (she is still post op) - proud as punch, next to Charlie Mouse who she seems to adore! We have just had problems with her weeing in the house without warning (more warning with a boy!) even though at other times she has been shown the garden & done it there. So advice here would be appreciated! She is so confident, that our friend just came over with her girl greyhound & she gave a little growl when she came in, as if to say - 'this is my house'! As I type though, it will be her 1st night alone downstairs (Sam made up a make shift bed & slept down there last night - it is our rule that no pet spends their 1st night here alone!) so we will see how she goes! Oh & no muzzle is needed for the cats - she is scared of them & they have taken no notice of her!

Bert, we love you & would have made you ours in a heartbeat & nursed you through whatever you may have. We cannot offer you a home because of our 3 cats, but I will come up & see you with Charlie Mouse & spend time with you & take you out for lunch until you find your forever home xxx

Betty and Celt...... what can I say? The reminder of their sad state of health is the awful smell coming from their kennel. Their teeth are in a terrible way and they are both booked in next week for dentals. I am just so pleased that the Head Office of RGT and Greyhound Board stepped in and asked us to help so at least we can make a difference to those who come to us. I want to thank everyone who supports us in whatever way possible. This enables us as a team to help greyhounds, either that come to us or get rehomed via other venues and this is what matters. These gentle beautiful dogs repay you just by seeing their lives improve. My heart breaks every day for those we are unable to help....

The gorgeous Nelly came home with me on Wednesday evening and she was speyed at Fivelands on Thursday. She has recovered well but has stayed at ours as she is quite a nervous little girl. Tonight she has been laying in the lounge and has gained a lot more confidence. She is soooo sweet!

Gorgeous Bert came back to Daybreaks today after being fostered for a while. He has come home with me and had a trip to the vets on the way. Sadly, despite an amazing appetite, he has lost 2kg. He has had bloods taken today and hopefully we can find out what is going on. I will keep you posted....
