I've been hearing some lovely comments about the gorgeous Bert...if we had a mansion instead of a house and a van rather than a car...the other 'arf would have sneaked him home I'm sure ! Hope you won't wait long- folks are missing out on a real gem x x x

What a super super dog you are Bert. You were the star of the barbeque tonight, happily lapping up all the attention and of course any burgers and cheese you could get. Whoever is lucky to adopt this beautiful boy will get a fantastic companion xx

Josie, now called Bonny, is lovely. She has settled in so quickly like she's always been here. Lives her walks, loves having coconut oil rubbed on her head, good at night and in the day. An absolute pleasure to add her to our 'clan'. I'm sure we'll bump into you soon, Wendy x

Tommy

Tommy walked along with Andy and behaved impeccably. I got to spend some time with him after putting Princess - his kennel mate - back into the kennel. He seems quiet and steady and has a lovely face. He was also happy to be fussed - although Princess likes to make sure she's not forgotten too! Lovely boy x J

Jamie
I’m Homed
I met Jamie today and he was definitely up for a walk - probably due to having been on short walks for the past 5 days following his castration. When we first left the kennel, he was full of the joys of spring and quite bouncy. I put him on a short lead and worked on stopping him pulling. When we started off after the halfway point of the walk, he seemed to have calmed down, so I gave him a longer lead again and he walked along with very little pulling. He seems a very happy, affectionate boy and isn't especially big for a male. Hope he finds a new home soon so he can explore the big, wide world with his own family x J

Mary (Princess)
I’m Homed
It was lovely to meet this little girl today. When I first went in to kennels, I went round to meet the dogs and straight away Princess was licking my hand through the bars to her kennel. As it turned out, I ended up taking her for her walk. We went along the lane as she isn't keen on traffic and I was warned that she might be too afraid and not want to move once she left Daybreaks grounds. I have to say I could tell she was nervous and not at all keen on the few cars that passed but with constant encouragement she walked along with me all the way along the walk. When we stopped half way, I had to have a few steps trotting to unstick her feet from the floor and get her moving again (although I suspect this had something to do with her being interested in what was in the field beyond). Once we were going again, she walked along properly back to the kennels. She then didn't want to go back in her kennel, but once she was back in with Tommy, she was fine and more than happy for some fuss. When I dared try and cuddle Tommy, I suddenly felt the brush of fur against my face as Princess jumped up in the way demanding fuss. She's a gorgeous little girl who just needs a little bit of confidence and to be shown all is ok and I'm sure she'll be fine. In fact, I suspect that once she finds her paws, there'll be no stopping this little one and I imagine she'll be very loving too!! (As someone who has fostered a smaller black greyhound girl and currently owns two of them, one of which was initially nervous when we had her, I have experience of them). She's a little beauty and happy to have met her - and happy to walk her again next time we're up; assuming she's still there! x J
