Brae
Over the Rainbow Bridge
As John's off to the weekly pub quiz, Rosie, Brae & me are having a 'girls night in'. Yippee, I get a whole sofa to myself instead of having to share it with hubby. Before we stepped into the fantastic world of greyhounds we had a sofa each, but that soon changed when Rosie adopted us and now that beautiful Brae has taken up residency on Rosie's sofa, I don't think there's any chance any time soon that the humans in this abode will be claiming it back! Wouldn't change it for the world though. We're currently fostering Brae and she has made such an impact on all 3 of us (& her new Nan) in the 6 days she's been here. Despite this little girl's hock injury and subsequent limp, it doesn't stop her wanting to play with her big sister, jog up & down the garden & drive, jump onto the bed & settee, demonstrate a 'paws on' approach to what's occurring on the kitchen work surface at meal times, knocking John over (twice!) in the lounge as she leapt up to give him a nudge in the right direction... (I wasn't much use at helping him up as it was far too funny). She's nibbled at Rosie's cuddly toys, demolished one of my slippers, chewed through the strap of my handbag and made us giggle every hour of every day. She's a cheeky little monkey and seizes any opportunity to bagsy the comfiest bed at snooze time. Like 2 peas in a pod, watching this gorgeous pair wander and explore every inch of the garden at all hours of the day & night is priceless. Being 'Mom' to a greyhound really is the best! Tash xx

Fantastic, the bandages on his legs might be to help support him? They do this with horses to spread the weight. He's in the best place at the moment 🙂 🙂 🙂 xxxxxxx

We could not help ourselves & went to visit Ash at the vets! The poor boy has all his legs & his tail bandaged up & looks sooo sore from the diarrhoea burns, his adenoma operation & his castration. BUT he was bright & so pleased to see us, he even pawed at me to carry on stroking him & then struggled to stand up for us! He jerked his head up twice too, when we mentioned Charlie Mouse's name! The vet said we could even have brought Charlie Mouse in to see him! We are so happy! We know we have a long road ahead of us when we collect him tomorrow though, with bathing him, treating his sores, getting him to eat & trying to put the weight on, but we are prepared! Thank you so much to everyone for all their prayers & good wishes xxx

Melysa & Sam... stay strong and stay positive as he really is in the best place. I'm sure the vets will let him come home as soon as he is properly stable though you must all be missing him desperately. I've sent my cuddle for Ash again today. Fight on fella and you'll be home soon. xxxx
