Ditto all the below! Now it's dropping colder my mind always wanders to the Greys in kennels, racing and retired. I know they're safe, warm and well looked after but it's not the same as having a fire to curl up in front of or a sofa to stretch out on... Lucky boy Millhouse x Hope you and your new family every happiness Xx

Paddy

This is wonderful news to hear and so glad Paddy has found a loving home at last. If I was able to have another greyhound I would have picked Paddy straight away. He's such a handsome, gentle boy and really does deserve his lovely new home in time for Christmas xxx

Louis
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi muddypaws, I did try and reply to your message the other day after you let us know how Louis was doing but my phone kept freezing and it didn't save it, sorry. Doing it on the ipad now just in case. I just had a call from Andy, Kylie's foster parent to tell me about Louis, I was so shocked. Hope that Louis is ok, I can see from your reply to Ruth that he's doing better today which is such a relief as I started to panic when Andy asked if I'd seen the message today. Hopefully it's a one off thing and that he'll be fine. Please let me know how he gets on at the vets and I'm sure he will have put some weight on. Send him our love, Deb xxxxxxx

He has seemed o.k since Ruth, he slept right the way through last night , no problems. Will pop him into the vets on Friday to weigh him,see if he has gained any. He still looks quite thin, even tho he eats like a horse!! May take Dave as well, for a brain scan....see if we can find one !!! X.

Coilean (Bubbs)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Bubbs is one adorable girl - she was speyed last Wednesday and I kept her at home along with Tiny until Saturday. She was absolutely golden - clean in the house, great with ours and so very settled. On Tuesday morning as the blocks had to be cleared for the under bed heating to be installed, before I took her out to MomofTess, she sat in the kitchen at the kennels on her bed and didn't move. She will be an amazing pet for someone who will adapt to home life and routine really well and will be great fun in return. As well as her fur being amazingly soft soft soft!!!!!

Gordon
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Dear All, I thought that I would just post a note to warn people who walk their dogs in the far end of Cannon Hil Park and in Holders Lane Wood. On Saturday at about 16:15, I was out walking with Gordon. We walked along the west side the river. We crossed the river at the bridge that is halfway between Kitchener Road and First Avenue. Going up the bank on the far side we met a lady with her dog. We stopped to chat, the dogs were relaxed, and the lady was stroking Gordon's head. Then suddenly, a fierce Weimaraner came bounding through the path from the next field. He was not on a lead. He barked at Gordon, and then ran round behind Gordon, and bit his rear. Fortunately, Gordon was wearing his greyhound coat to keep out the cold, and the Weimaraner's teeth just slid off! There was no damage to Gordon, or the coat. I'm really thankful that when I adopted Gordon that I bought proper greyhound coats from Daybreaks. They completely cover his rear. I feel that we have had a close call. We have seen that angry Weimaraner a couple of times before, but never at such close quarters. As his owner pulled him away all she said 'They don't get on', as if that was all that needed to be said. I can't believe that on 10th December I will have had Gordon six months. Ted.

Louis

Louis has been fine so far today. We had a dog a few years ago, also called Kate, who when she was an old girl, used to have seizures all the time, so luckily we are used to spotting them and dealing with them. Hopefully, it may have just been a one off !!

Thanks Jill. We did ask the vet about taping her toes or a bandage, but because it's her outside toe on her front paw, and she is being very sensible and walking with her foot tilted slightly inward, her bad toe isn't making any contact with the floor, so he reckons she probably won't need it. He said it should take about 6-8 weeks to fully mend. X.
