I was at the kennels when Barney first arrived and from that moment I took a shine to him, so just sitting in his kennel with him two Sunday's ago and having a little chat & a cuddle, was my privilege. It's fantastic news that he's now going to be rehomed and I wish him and his new family every happiness.

oh I am so glad to see Ruben is out on foster, I felt so terribly sad for him when I read he was struggling and then today another two returnees on thier way and one 9 years old its just heartbreaking after nearly 5 years in a home ! I look at my two lying next to me and it is just too sad !! thank goodness we have Daybreaks !! lets hope they are not theer too long !!! 🙁

Soooo glad you have Flicka with you, it was a pleasure to walk him, but there seemed to no connection between him and Macca. Flicka is a lovely boy, and I really hope things work out for you. Congrats on the lie-in, I bet you could get used to it!

thanks michelle and bertie,wilf slept tll 7.15 this morning ! looks like flicka has worked his magic on him,fingers crossed for the rest of the week.flicka is doing well with the cats,so far so good because we would love to give him a home x

hi ruth,well what a difference ! wilf slept till 7.15 this morning,first time since we have had him,looks like flicka has done the trick,he is so chilled out and he slept well too.hope you are feeling better soon x

Aw Barney's getting a home! My Dad took a shine to Barney when we came to visit my Flo and they were sharing a kennel, he'll be pleased he's reserved - we can stop telling him what a great addition he'd be to the family now!

Happy 13th Birthday my gorgeous boy. Gordon is still young at heart and having fun on our walks. I don't know where he gets the energy from at his age. He still keeps us on our toes bless him.

Hi Choc - what are you feeding Wilf and how much water are you adding to his food? Sometimes it can just be the fact that they are used to company so hopefully having Flicka might help the problem - please give me a call or keep us updated here.... it is not great being up in the night (erm... as you can see from the time of this post) - it is not Reuben keeping me up (he is sleeping like a baby) just my miserable streaming cold - hey ho - a good excuse to catch up with paperwork for me eh?!

We had the pleasure of walking Ted down the lane today. He was a little quiet in the kennel but once out on his walk his personality shone through and he is lovely. Keen at first but soon settled down and we had some serious behind the ear scratching when we got back and he loved it!

Wilf

Oh gosh choc you cannot get up in the middle of the night forever !!! youll both be exhausted before long !! there are so many other people with a lot more experience and knoledge than me, but I had similar with Bertie who is now managing to sleep through until 7 - 7.30 !!! so here are a few things we did !! ; we always put him in a fleece as a comfort thing, also we have a baby monitor ( dont laugh ) but sometimes he gets up and calls for us, we were never sure was it for a wee or was he saying 'where are you' so now we listern for a minute or so before we get up and more often than not he settles back down !! also having Blade has helped as he prefers a lie in in the mornings !! its really difficult but you dont want it to become a habbit thing with Wilf !! perhaps he maybe better having company through the night with Flika, I wish you all the best & I am sure other people will have some suggestions ! 🙁

Sadly we have had a few returnees in the past few weeks but poor Reuben is one that is struggling being in kennels - he only came back to the kennels a couple of days ago. He has been difficult to get out of his kennel in the morning, not eating terribly well and shaking a lot - not due to cold as we have plenty of heaters on in the kennels. I have therefore brought him home tonight. He started off preferring to hide up a corner but he is now coming up to us and wagging his tail. To be on the cautious side he is muzzled as we have our 6 and Lily May visiting but he seems absolutely fine. He is adorable and I will keep you posted as to how he gets on.

Well it was great to see all the people and greyhounds turn out for the walk at suton park today,it was our first of many to come,we took our wilf and took flicka home too ! he is doing great with wilf and hope its the start of a great freindship. flicka met 2 of the cats as well ,without any problems,thanks to ruth and norman for giving us a chance to give him a new home,sorry norman if you didnt make the pub ! lol.just a question if anyone has any advice,wilf sleeps about 3 hrs at night then needs a wee so we take it in turns getting up about 3 letting him out,we have tried him sleeping in a fleece but no difference,any ideas would be helpful ty xx
