Yes LizzyB like us they can feel poorly and get grumpy so a vet check is always recommended when temperament and/or behaviour changes tho I'm sure Bethan has done everything she can to work out why Reubes has changed. The problem comes when there are children or other adults in the household and I can understand people not wanting to risk an accident cos then the dog would come out worst 🙁 Far better they come back to us and they can be re-assessed and rehomed carefully elsewhere with all the knowledge of them we have.

It was a pleasure to see Con "bouncing" for his breakfast this morning, his confidence is definitely growing. Well done to his lovely kennel mate Ginny for showing him life can be fun! Wish they could get a home together. Xxx

Understandably poor Reuben was very stressed when me n my boys got to the kennels today, panting away in the run n was not wanting to go into a kennel so I thought he would benefit from a bit of Charlie n Louis company in the kitchen n he was great with them n as the day went on began to relax n have a sleep. He didn't eat his dinner but did enjoy my chicken sandwich instead! He is a really lovely boy n I hope he doesn't have to spend too long back in kennels. X

Oh Reuben, what sad news. I love this boy he is very special. 3 years ago after reading Reuben's story we went to met him and he melted our hearts. Reuben failed his cat test so for us it was not to be. Ruth called to tell us about Reuben and knowing we now had the idea of number 2 happened to mention they had cat tested a lovely black girl at the same time, she had done really well, this girl had been abandoned, had a very sweet nature and her name was Josie. I'm very sad for all concerned it has not worked out. He is a lovely boy and I'm sure he'll find the right cat free home soon. You get my cuddle today sweetheart. X

This is very sad news. I am sure that this decision would not have been taken lightly and will be very upsetting for his family to have to return him. Thinking of everyone concerned. xxx

Poor Rubes. Just a thought but do hounds sometimes have personality change/ unpredictable behaviour if there is something physical going on, same as with people? Hope he is OK x

Sadly Reuben has been returned today. Unfortunatley he has become unpredicatble and has shown some aggresion to his owners. However they would like to say 99% of the time he is one of the most loving dogs you could wish to own. They feel he would benefit from being an only dog or possibly homed with another female Greyhound. They are devasted at having to return him but feel it is the right thing to do.
