  • Duggie

    I’m Homed

We took Duggie home yesterday and his first night went well. He prefers to sleep alone and has set up camp in our dining room. He was quite interested in the cats but in a curious way. He wasn't too keen on a small fluffy dog, though. A bit of barking and excitement. Today we went for a long walk and encountered a number of medium sized dogs. He was quite happy to sniff them and vice-versa. A barked at a couple of smaller dogs, but I found that he would be ok if corrected early. Will need to work a little on that one.

Hi Jak'smom, I managed to watch the Paul O'Grady programme tonight showing WIllow the beautiful Greyhound conquering his fear of getting up and downstairs. It was great to see Greyhounds featured in such a positive way. I agree with you; hope it encourages more people to consider adopting one of these lovely dogs. Twiggy is fine thank you, fast asleep next to me on the sofa! Xxx

  • Evi (Tippie)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hello, it's Evi here, (my name used to be Tippie) I just wanted to let everyone know about my birthday - in fact it isn't my birthday til tomorrow but my human mum and dad said we were going to celebrate today instead because they're at "work" tomorrow. I had all of my favourite foods today - sausage at breakfast, scrambled eggs lunch and some chicken on my dinner - then for pudding mum brought out my favourite birthday cake - sardine with cream cheese with my name on it and number 7 'cos I'm 7 tomorrow! I loved my three long walks and my new squeaky toy... but the one thing I didn't like was that mum and dad had bought my greyhound sister Mia a toy too in case she felt left out - it's MY birthday not Mia's so she shouldn't get a present today so I stole hers when I got chance and took it to my bed, so there! Anyway on the whole I enjoyed my day ... I wonder if mum and dad will do the same tomorrow on my REAL brithday?! Kissses and licks, Evi xxxx

Hi... Bunny's former foster mum here. It really made my day reading your news that she is doing well and is getting on well with Luke. She's a very special girl to me and I am so looking forward to seeing that blue 'Fostered' sign turn to red and then to green very soon. Linda x

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Bunny is doing really well and has discovered a squeaky toy that she is finding difficult to leave alone. She enjoys her walks and comes to heel really well. She loves (highfire) Luke and follows him around where ever he goes. Looks like a keeper - especially now she has found her favourite place on the sofa.

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Thanks Lady V. We went to the pet shop to choose a present. Felt sorry for him because he smelt all the nice treats and wasnt able to have any because all the really nice smelly ones had unspecified cereals in them. He had a lot of fuss in the shop from the staff and from a lovely family with a little boy who gave him a hug. Maybe when he's older he will come in with his own grey. Hope you and the lovely Twiggy are well. It was lovely to see Paul O'Grady FTLOD this week. Hope it makes more people consider adopting a grey xx
