Ruby (Pixie)
I’m Homed
Ruby is off to see the vet specialist later today, I'm hoping&praying that he thinks she's made some progress and that the pills she's got are working well enough to carry on. To us she seems to have made a bit of progress over the weekend but she's clearly still feeling v poorly as she's not fully herself. Xx

Fire
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Fire...words cannot express how I feel everytime I visit this webpage and still see you there. But you are like me, an eternal burning flame of optimism. I know one day it will all fall into places and the right home for you will come. Good things happen to those who wait...you and your black buddies will have that final retirement you all deserve. I miss you. But you are in a better place where there is always that chance of being adopted. I am so honoured of having been a part of your life, constantly reminding me what beautiful creature greyhounds are. You take care my boy...show them the beautiful spirit within you I came to know. Tom

This is great news indeed. To borrow Tom's racing name, I am Delight(ed) for Tom! I was there when Tom was brought in by his family. As an observing third party, I could see how difficult for his family to leave him behind. Tom felt it too as he was in stress whilst seeing his family go. It's good to know there is a good happy chapter to this. Here's hoping it will be long time arrangement and Tom's twilight years will be spent to the very family he loves. xxx

Now this story has made me very happy !! It breaks my heart that, because of illness / divorce / moving house etc people get to a point where they may have to give up their beloved companions. So very sad. It's nice to see though that will a little bit of planning / support, these situations can be resolved. :O) Well done, Tom ! Think of it as a little holiday away !

I've met Fire too and can't understand why he has been here so long. He's lovely. If only I could have another, but alas.

That is very good news indeed. Just thought that I would mention, although may have already been thought of - The Cinnamon Trust may have a volunteer who could help with walking Tom?, their details can be found online. Sometimes there are local small businesses who offer a walk your pet service but of course isn't free. I am sure that this type of issue if faced by many people who have a dog but cannot walk them due to health issues.

Fabulous happy news! Tom's family are really missing him so much that they are going to have him back on Saturday. Due to their ill health they are unable to walk him but have found a friend who can help with his walks. If there is anyone in the Selly Oak area who could help Tom's owners with walking, please let me know.
