Ruby (Joan)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Right thats it after days of threatening, Ruby(Joan) is being returned! she ran off with my Cath Kidston glasses case this morning, bad if you live in this house but even worse it had my glasses in and trust me I AM BLIND WITHOUT THEM!! Thankfully they were found in one piece. The disgraced girlie is now curled on her bed looking VERY innocent, wondering what all the fuss was about, thankfully for her she is loved SOOOOOOOOO much that there is no chance of being a returneeee but we like to keep her on her toes, mmm think that might be the other way round!! Right time to feed the girlies n head out for a walk. Happy Friday everybody xxx

Jester
Over the Rainbow Bridge
LOL this makes me smile, Maddie looking as if hoping he is just there for a visit, my Rossi was just like that when Toby came to live with us, he was very put out not to be 'the only greyhound in the house' and after a few weeks it dawned on him that Toby was there to stay and he was rather disgruntled in a funny ,indignant sort of way...the are just too human at times and make me laugh. so glad he is getting there as he is a treasure and just needs to find himself again. much love to you all and a hug for Jester and of course Maddie. xxx

Jester
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Jester is starting to settle down again now, he has had a bit of funny time for the last week and a half. I'm convinced it was seperation and the fact that Maddie must have knocked him flying up the hall. However he is getting back to his old self albeit bambi on ice. He makes us laugh every day and is really rewarding. He's a real snuggler and alway pushes in front of Maddie when the cuddles are being handed out, we are sure Maddie is still wondering how long he is staying, she looks at us with an incredulous look behind his back and she likes to dart upstairs onto the bed to get some peace. I'm learning him a few manners on his lead at the moment and he's doing well.

Grace
I’m Homed
Hopefully some pics will make their way onto her profile soon! At the moment I'm trying to foster her as much as possible. I think I can have her again the week after next. I'll be down on the weekend, and I'll try to volunteer for a fair few days next week so it won't be too much of a wrench for her to be back at DB. I'll miss her morning stretch-trumps. I think Aimee is right! I am being manipulated by this dastardly, cute, affectionate, clever (devilishly), and soppy little date.....there I go again. I think I have a terminal case of Graceitous. x

morning all, a quick update for you, day 3!! first night she woke up (in our bed obviously!!) and was a little disorientated! quickly settled back to her land of snooze! she's inquisitive but not destructive (sa far!!) and she seems to love her friend who looks back at her in the mirror! We've had some brilliant walks, she's met some huge and tiny dogs and just stood still taking it all in. She's been clean in the house, discovered the fridge is where tasty food is kept and.... well the rest of the time she is conked out !! Love her!! x she says hi to you all, and thank you xx

I can vouch for meadowcroft kennels as well, Ele the lady that runs it is fab and really looks after her guests as if they were her own. https://www.meadowcroftkennels.co.uk/index.html She also has her own greys, and looks after the Hall Green dogs as well.

Hi Jeff, I hope the rest of your wait goes quickly. I know how it feels, I had to wait 42 days from knowing I could have a greyhound until I finally got my lovely girl. I had a calendar and crossed each day off! x

Hi I took my two greys to Meadowcroft kennels in Bromsgrove, they are nxt door to the Hall Green RGT, on the Stourbridge Road. Highly recommend them, My Greys's come back as good as I sent them, no problems at all, and they have the advantage of knowing the breed very well. xx

HIya both Please let me know what you think of the book - for a long long time I've not gone along with the wolf=dog theory of dog training, I think there needs to be boundaries and consistency but I have watched mine and not seen a strict 'pack' structure of one top/Alpha dog and talked to people who think like me 🙂 ... I've also seen people who have been told that they have to be the dominant one - and got very scared unhappy dogs as a result :(. I read an article by David Mech who was one of the first scientists to use Alpha dog/bitch and wolf=dog .. he and some 20 other scientists have now published research which says they got it wrong- they now realise they were watching wolves kept in an enclosure not truly feral wolves who could move and find their own territory and food so David Mech says their results were flawed. Apparently a true wild wolf pack is like a family and the 'children' leave home to start their own pack if food is scarce but if there's lots of food often wolbes will join the pack and the 'family' becomes bigger. True fights are rare and pups are fed first not the alpha dogs ... really interesting ...see what you think 🙂 Julie xx
