I am so very pleased that you found your home visit so useful. We are proud at Perry Barr Trust to be able to offer support throughout the whole process of visiting, choosing, homing and the aftercare of your greyhound as every step is equally important. I look forward to seeing you soon. Ruth

Now I have got my head around it , the home visit was amazing , Such a responsible , professional approach ,Both Jill and Paul even turned up in RGT uniform a load of information and has reminded me that I am taking on the unknown , not to trust to early and NOT to become complacent . I honestly thought I would gain nothing from it beforehand ,but it was invaluable , professional and personal . Im now actually going to be proud of walking Carrie up the lane with a muzzle making the statement , that I am a responsible dog owner and not a weak one who has to muzzle his dog because he cant control her... I also thought ,being honest and I hope I offend no one , that it would be easy to rehome a retired racer , but the experience has far reached my expectations and I know Im going to become an even more responsible dog owner from it.. Thanks for the support so far , Jill asked that I keep in touch , Trust me , you will all be asking me to stop keeping in touch.. Jeff

Hi Foggie - Arty is an absolute sweetie - has got on with all his kennel mates (and he has seen many come and go) and he is so good with them. I am sure he would be fine it would be just Maggie and Misty accepting him into their family. I will always support and help you if you wanted to take him on trial..... just give me a call..... As for safe areas - there are very few unfortunately. I was lucky enough to be able to use someones rather large 'garden' to let Arty have a run... but other than that - I really don't know anywhere enclosed and safe to let them off lead sadly 🙁

Hi, Ruth, we are wondering about Arty. We already have Maggie, 13 and 1/2 and had Misty, 5 and 1/2 from you just before christmas. Misty has settled in really well now so obviously don't want to upset the equilibrium but do you think Arty would like to join two girls? Also do you know of any safe enclosed areas whre we could let them off the lead, evrywhere round here is escapable from, we live in the top end of N Warwickshire.

Faith has been with me for a week. She is golden, loving, house trained, walks well on the lead, perfect in all ways. The home that she find will be very lucky to have such a loveable companion and friend, couldn't ask for a better hound. Find a home soon little girl.

I agree xx my lovely big black boy Sam is a gentle giant, not mad like my 2 girlies, gentle on the lead and soooo affectionate. If I'm feeling down I kneel down and he comes and puts his head on my shoulder and leans in to give me a cuddle. Give the big boys like Arty a chance. Even with 3 kids I wouldn't hesitate having a big gentle grey xxxx

Dont worry , there will be loads of updates on her progress , I just can't wait to start , my dogs are my life and making them happy makes me happy , I'm just happy that I have the opportunity to do it again for another , one thing that one of the girls at the kennels said was the reason that dogs lives are so short is so we can love so many of them in our lifetime ...
