Hi Darryl. Our two eat grass as well. They are never sick afterwards, but there does seem to be something about that lush green stuff that they enjoy! It can be a little daunting when you first bring them home can't it? I remember when we first brought our boy Gent home. I'd never owned a dog before, so relied heavily on the advice from the kennels. After doing the tour of the garden, big praise when he did a wee outside and introducing him on the rest of the house, I looked at him and thought "what do I do with him now?". In reality, he just wanted to climb on a nice comfy bed and do what Greys do best! You sound like you and Jack are doing just fine, but isn't it great to have the support of other grey owners and everyone at the kennels? I found the monthly walks useful too, it's so reassuring talking to other Grey owners and if there's one thing we all do well, it's talk about our Greys! Enjoy yourself. Mand x

I don't like getting in the back of the car (it's an estate) - Mum is having to lift me in; and I'm not a small lad! I'm fine once Im in, and I get out ok, any advice for Mum before she puts her back out?

What a shame ... boarding kennels are such scarey places, dogs are frightened, lots of strange dogs barking 🙁 no one they know is around 🙁 I can understand how they feel but what a shame 🙁 J x

That's a shame... She lived with a cat and was ok with it want she? It is probably due to being confined together. I think if my two were confined together the fur would fly! She is a dinky little poppet so I doubt it'll take long to get picked again. Hope the other dog is ok xxxx

Sadly Sally attacked one of the family's existing small pet dogs whilst she was in boarding kennels whilst the family were on holiday. We presume this is purely due to the distress of being in boarding as she has lived happily with all the other pets in the family without any problems until now. However we understand why the family feel she would be better rehomed. She is arriving back at Daybreaks today 🙁

Jack was great all night. No accidents and he didn't move from his duvet all night - I didn't hear a thing until he started with his squeaky goose at 5.30 this morning. Can someone please tell me if it's normal behaviour for greys to chew grass?? I took Jack into the garden this morning and he did his business but then looked like he was eating/chewing a little grass. Any advice??

Hi all, I had a very good night - I was very tired so I slept well and didn't disturb the family. I've had my walk this morning and I'm now taking it easy on my duvet. Didn't want all my breakfast this morning tho'. Loads of love, Macca xxxx

What fantastic news I am so pleased for him and for everyone at the kennels who have worked so hard to find him a new home.He has such a big personality he deserves a good retirement, he has waited a long time.

Just thought I'd let everyone know Seamus had a brilliant night. Slept under the stairs without so much as a peep and I came down to a clean hall and a very waggy tail! x

Hi Claire In my experience greys are usually terrified of other breeds as they've not usually seen them before .. just take the socialisation at Layla's pace, if you can find a friend with a quiet, calm 'real' dog then walking with them would usually really help - walk parrallel with them and you and the other person between Layla and the other dog then gradually - over days/weeks/months depending on how scared she is.. get a little closer and eventually walk so the dogs are next to each other (you may need to move away from the other dog at first) .Watch Layla's body language to make sure she's relaxed whenever you change things ie get closer etc and if she's not happy go back to whatever you were last doing when she was realxed (sorry does this make sense). Be careful cos we've seen some dogs who have been a little worried by other dogs when they first come into retirement than their new owners have tried to socialise them too quickly and the dogs been absolutely terrified and ended up being a lot worse than they were which can take much longer to sort out 🙁 Best wishes Julie

Oh ronnie I so wish I could give you the loving home and cate you so deserve... I have mentioned you a few times but haven't started laying it on really thick yet! If you are still here in a few weeks I might start on the 'please can we take ronnie out for the day' trick. This worked with My Fly! Hopefully you will get chosen way before I have to start being sneaky and underhand. A lovely family will snap you up soon I'm sure of it. You are too handsome and loving to be there for long xxxxxx

hi fi. hope you and your partner are well and obviously the hounds too. has simon agreed to you both having another one to add to your family yet? me and matt got married the other week, was great. it will be you and simon next? Layla is being fab. she is so good, i have been putting in alot of training everyday and i have started having her off the lead already and she is proving very well at coming back and dosnt go too far away from me. we have a great bond. she is clean in the house and rarely has accidents at all. I couldnt wish for her to be any better except she is very scared of other breeds. i am trying to socialise her with other breeds but she is really scared of them and hides behind me and does everthing she can to get away. i was wondering if lilly has this prob sharron if u read this. I read lilly is still having accidents, i hope it gets better and u stick with it. should be ok in the end if u are consistent. if layla can do it then so can her sister hopefully. 🙂 be good to catch up soon fi and go for a nice walk. Much love to all from claire matt and the greys.xxx
