Maggie
Over the Rainbow Bridge
You would not believe the difference in Maggie this morning. She is bright again and has eaten her breakfast and even been out for a wee.... albeit very wobbly. Thanks to everyone for their kind words. Like all our greys - they are so precious and to see them hurting is the worst thing in the world.

Cherry
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hi Vickic - we have 5 greys - all cat and small animal friendly - and belive me - you soon adapt to how you cope with walking, transporting etc. Our latest grey is a 7 year old from Ruth - and he's certainly livened up our lives. He's not the dog we first got - into absolutely everything - and a bit naughty in the house re toileting (despite being toilet trained) - but we're working on it!! I've just rescued a box set DVD from being chewed lol! However, I agree with all the other comments - two really is no different to one - and they are also good company for each other!

Lola (Ashley)
I’m Homed
Lola is an absolute joy, so perky and funny and affectionate. After a long time sleeping on my bed (I know, I know!) she is now a very good girl and sleeps downstairs. She currently lives with 2 cats, and we have made a lot of progress with their relationship over the past 18months, but she would be better suited to either a cat-free home, or with owners who have the ability or experience to carry out further training with her in this area. She runs to the door whenever the bell rings, then immediately lies on the sofa so that visitors will give her a fuss! She makes us laugh when I give her a chewy bar or dentistick as she grabs it and runs off at speed to take it to her bed! She has never chewed anything she shouldn't, but does sometimes nick our shoes and take them to her bed too! She does like to bark at the squirrels that run along the back fence when she's in the garden tho. Her hygiene is great - we only occasionally have the odd wee-accident now, and that has been my fault. One thing I know we are fortunate with is that she is a great traveller. She jumps into the car no problem and snuggles down on her duvet in the boot. On one occasion, she was so chilled, I looked in my rear view mirror to see 4 paws in the air!!I've taken her camping twice and she loved it. She is now fine with other dogs and on one camping trip, she formed a little pack with the 3 other dogs in the group. I am so, so, sorry to have to let her go....but we have had a great 18months together. If my health and life circumstances were different, I wouldn't even consider letting her go - I would be taking her to Julie's training every week to get the best from her and enable her to eventually go off-lead, maybe?! This is very much my loss and someone else's gain.

Poor precious Maggie - she had to have a toe amputated on Monday and had a couple of teeth out. During the day on Wednesday she unfortunately jumped on Joe in his bed and he bit her on her flank. She had emergency stitch up that evening. This afternoon I got home from the kennels and the wound looked terrible. I rushed her to the vets. The vet said septicaemia had started to set in. She was operated on again this afternoon where they had to remove muscle and dead tissue and much infection and is in a very poorly and serious state. She has 3 drains in and a mountain of antibiotics. We are keeping her as warm and settled as possible and keeping our fingers crossed. The vet said if we had left her til tomorrow she would not have survived the night. We are counting our blessings at the moment and hoping she makes a good recovery soon.

Lola (Ashley) is coming back into the Trust as soon as we can accomodate her. Her owner sadly due to circumstances beyond her control, is unable to keep her. We are desperate to find this little girl a home to go straight to so she doesn't come back into the kennels. If you are interested, please give me a call.
