Pearl (Cara)
I’m Homed
Pearl has been stopping at our house for the past two nights as her eyes swelled up on a walk to the park on Wednesday. Her eyes are back to normal with eye drops and her sight is certainly intact as she gets very excited when she sees dogs across the park on her walks with us. She is only a youngster and doesn't like being left and was quite anxious when she first arrived at our house but she soon settled. She found the TV far too intriguing and kept trying to climb behind it to investigate!! If you have a house where you don't want the ornaments knocked over - Pearl is not for you! She is a sweet girl - loves egg on toast - but just needs some training so she doesn't pull so much on the lead. She has learnt outside is where she goes to the toilet which is a bonus!

George
Over the Rainbow Bridge
We took George home to our farm yesterday. He has no problems with my two small Jack Russells. He remains a little shy. Has very much enjoyed going in the fields for walks, in fact does not want to go back in to the house after the fresh air on his face and lots of new things to smell. Although he has a comfy bed he has found the usual spot in our kitchen, bum aginst the AGA. Appears to have no problem with the calves and cows which come right up the his garden fence. Sleep quietly all night and went straight out to have a wee this morning. Therfore so far so good. Hilary

Jasper
I’m Homed
Jasper has been adopted by Kerry who helps to cover the kennels. He is happily living with her two other greyhounds Archie and Susie, 7 cats and 7 chickens! Some of you will know Kerry who heartbreakingly lost her 7 year old greyhound Andy to bone cancer at the end of last year. Amazingly we found out that Jasper has the same parents as Andy and now we know why he resembles Andy so very much in looks and temperament. Unfortunately Jasper had to have 14 teeth removed yesterday and due to a limp he was x-rayed which confirmed he needed medication to ease discomfort for a toe injury. The vets bills have come to almost £400 and we are desperate to raise funds to cover this. If you can help, please click the donate button on the page for any of the dogs who currently are looking for a home or call Ruth who can accept credit card payments over the phone. We are eternally grateful to anyone who can help us.

James
Over the Rainbow Bridge
James is such a sweet boy. He is so very gentle and loving but does get excited when he sees other breeds so we are doing a lot of training with him. He is our longest stayer at Daybreaks (which we don't mind because we all love him) but I am sure he longs to be someone's special boy as he has so much affection to give.

Gerry
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Gerry is a big boy - he is a big softy and loves to cuddle! I will take a 'full length' photo today and pop it on the site - so watch this space. Do you want us to 'cat test' him?

Kevin
Over the Rainbow Bridge
We originally considered Kevin as a partner to our little yorkie but another visiting dog freaked him out on our visit so we couldnt really sense how they got on. We rehomed Ben in the end but have never stopped wondering about Kevin(in fact my husband and i have often gone to call Ben Kevin by mistake!) I just wanted to say how pleased I am that he is settled somewhere new-he really deserves it. I really wish though that on viewing these pages I wouldnt see so many dogs being returned time and time again for so many silly reasons-it breaks my heart! Only death will part me from my dogs and I wish people would think more carefully before taking a grey-or any other dog on. Bless you, Kevin sounds really happy and im chuffed! x

Barney
I’m Homed
The sutton walk was very good (lovely to see ina, rossi and toby!) and we all enjoyed it. mums dog cindy had stayed over the night before as a trial run to make sure they would get on well as she is staying over the easter hols. they got on great! barney even slept with his head on cindy on the way back from sutton. barney is doing well at dog training, he can lie down, stay and wait (most of the time anyway! lol) he seems to be accepting of some other dogs but needs work on the smaller fluffy ones and he gets offended by the excitable ones too if they dare put their paws on him! its all a work in progress! Larger dogs aren't a problem at all. everything is just so new to him and we know from experience it takes a good while for some dogs to feel settled, safe and confident in their new home. its such a contrast going from racing machine being encouraged to chase - then couch potato and being told well actually no, please don't chase anymore! must be really hard for them. Barney really makes me laugh as he always steals my wooly walking hat and we have a pink dog cushion that we always find in his bed too! cheeky hound!he has now put on over 3 kilos too!him and Floydy boy get on well, both as nutty as each other and when they start sprinting round the garden i just run for cover! Floydy likes to grab barneys back legs but of course floydy has no teeth watsoever so barney ends upcovered in slobber. my boys, i'm very proud of them! anyway thats enough of my rambling, i could go on all day about them! fay xx

Goldie
I’m Homed
Rossi Toby and I met up with Goldie at the Sutton walk, she is still a little shy but seems to have settled in very well, it just seems to take her a little while longer to adjust to suddenly being loved and cared for and generally being a pet but it was really nice to see her looking so well and to meet her lovely new 'parents'. Ina x
