Jack
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hiya Ruth Jack is the half brother to one of our girlies...do you think he could be detrained to live with small furries or is his prey drive too strong??

Wolfy
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Hello Chloe. Wolfy started limping. After a trip to the vets it was felt he had something in his pad possibly picked up during one of his many walks from the kennels. His pad was cut open 3 ways during the operation and hence we knew this would take a while to heal. Trying to keep his dressing dry was a nightmare so this is why he was fostered. He is doing really well in his foster home, his pad is now healed - his only problem is he not good with other breeds of dogs so his foster family are helping him by training him - I am sure he will find a home very soon!

How did Wolfy do this to his paw too? Yes Wolfy is a big boy but when spent some time with he knows to trust you. After his meal he used to rub his head up your leg to clean his face and when you are stroking him he would lean his head on you! He came form the same kennels as Gem and they used to be kennelled together. Wolfy really deserves a good home as he has been with you for a quite a long time know and he needs to be given a chance!I know this because i used to handle him when he used to be at our kennels aswell. Well we've had George for 2 weeks now and I honestly can't remember what life was like without him. He came home with us and just fitted in to our routine, making no fuss at all about being fed and pampered like a king. He and Gypsy are the best of pals, haven't had any tiffs so far instead their constantly cuddled up on their sofa together, usually on their back with legs in the air. George is hilarious, such a character, he likes to sleep upside down with his head hanging over the sofa, tongue hanging out and baring all his teeth, he just looks like he's got the biggest smile on his face. But even though they get on so well together, their both still eager for cuddles with us too, which is great. The scar on his face is hardly recognisable now as the furis growing over it and he's looking more hansome by the day. When I fathom out how to put a picture on this page, I will, then anyone can see why I call him my Gorgeous George.

about Jo's comment...yes, you are right, i am afraid it was a foregone conclusion...sometimes these things just need to be done. Toby is settling in extremely well, putting on weight and becoming much more relaxed in everyday situations and Paul has actually really taken to him so all is well!!!

I cut all my foot open so I am stopping at Ruth's house until I am better. I am now house trained and I know what 'No' means as I don't try to snatch food anymore and can wait patiently until it is my turn for a treat. I think I would like to live with another dog as I don't like being left on my own. I am happy to sleep through the night.... and most of the day as well!!!!

Mandy
I’m Homed
How excited every one was when mandy arrived home yesterday especially our 12yr old boy Ronan his tail hasn't stopped wagging yet. Boy has she made herself at home after all the introductions and a nosy at just about everything a walk and tea was on the agenda followed by trying out all the dog beds and rug. what a cute cookie the fridge has been sussed straight away along with where the dog treats are kept. So after a successful nights sleep accident and fret free, Mandy is getting used to her new life here in the country and making herself quite at home.

Quiet Penny
I’m Homed
Ruth and Rob could not have been more honest and upfront about Penny being very nervous and in need of TLC......The rehoming booklet described the return home in a confident statement along the lines of "on arrival home take your new dog straight into the house, let them explore briefly before going straight outside into the garden." ........Done, dusted and sorted by the time you'd made a cup of tea? Not in our case! Such confidence only applied to a dog that hadn't figured out that possession of the back seat of the car was nine tenths of the law.........so despite the bitter cold and falling snow it only took us two hours to coax her out of the car.......with both car doors open and variations on the Okey Cokey going on to bewilder the casual observer........Still, it's rare that one has the chance to disappear into a snowstorm with the words "I'm just going to get the dog out of the car. I might be gone a long time." One week on, how have we and Penny fared? She is absolutely gorgeous and has settled in remarkably, becoming increasingly confident by making small but significant progress on a daily basis. She is a very gentle, sensitive girl who does require kindness and patience. Each day has given us so much joy in seeing her blossom. We are so pleased she chose us to adopt her. In a word she's perfect.

Toby
I’m Homed
As I am reading this the boy in question is lounging on the sofa after having kicked me ceremoniously off it, poor lad needs the room to spread out and chill!!! he has a hard greyhound life indeed! Toby is doing so well, he has bonded with Monty and Rossi and has become a Mummy's boy, he literally lets me do anything to him and never even flinches. he is beginning to trust his new dad as well and no longer gets into a panic when he enter the room or comes up to him to stroke him. we have just had confirmation of our holiday cottage owner that we are allowed to take him along ( originally we only had the 2 when we booked and that's the maximum allowed) so in May he shall have a holiday in Scotland. his movement has improved lots and he no longer walks on three legs most of the time, I am certain that all the exercise on grass will strengthen his leg and in time he will move almost normal. He is a treasure and a very much loved addition to our household. much love ...Ina x
