Daybreaks Diary!

A busy day today...Thanks so much to Angie for feeding everyone and cleaning all the kennels this morning. :)) We had visits from Penny and Izzy for health checks. They both looked absolutely wonderful and were very happy girls. Loving their new homes. :)) Laura had lots of clients for pampers and nail clipping. Xxx Maud came in with gorgeous Smokey, now called Brian. He is currently out on trial with her and doing really well. He wasn't keen on getting out of the car when he arrived, but after a few cocktail sausages he decided to come in and say hello. :)) Thanks so much to Maud for all her help at the kennels today. Robbie went out for a lovely trip to the park with Kitty and her family. He had a supper time and they said he was such a good boy. :)) They also took Rocky out for a play in the sand run. He was very happy to see them. 🙂 Xxx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today. Great to see Patric back on a Saturday morning! :)) Despite the heavy rain showers, everyone went out for walks this morning and this afternoon. :)) Jess came in with Koda and helped Dukey meet a small dog, he was very good. Fingers crossed he may have found his forever home. :)) xx Our longer stayers, Rocky, Robbie and Gal are still waiting patiently for their forever homes. They are all fabulous dogs...hoping their special someone will soon come along. Xxx Xxx

Today is Belle's gotcha day. Three years ago today our beautiful Belle came to Daybreaks and I just happened to be there, right time right place. She followed me everywhere and made certain she was to be with me forever. Tonight to celebrate it was roast chicken and our usual snuggles on the sofa with Sammy as well. Those three years went by so fast and what a lot of achievements in that time, recently passing her Good Dog Citizen gold award. Not a bad bone in her body, she loves everyone she meets, we are very proud of her xx

Martha (Babe)

More progress to report for the lovely Babe. She was left for 4 hours today. I kept checking in via doggy spy cam. She was mostly relaxing in her crate, sometimes standing up in her crate but no noise or distress. Obviously her ultimate home will need to build up to this like we have but it shows she can be left for a good period if you need to. She’s started playing with toys a bit too. She’s not certain she can have them and tends to do a stealth grab and flits off with them. She’s eating well and her kennel coat is coming out to reveal a truly shiny hound.

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Super proud of this little lad, I hear he had a settled stay at Daybreaks; thank you for supporting us all xx So great you got to see each other Erik!! That made me so happy!! Josh has settled back in really well, slept all night, eaten all his food (I only use burns with a token taste of loaf dog food!!! Haha!!) and, well... Business as usual! Any questions about Josh, please do ask at Daybreaks and I can help answer them to the best of my knowledge and experience with this little lovely lad xx

Dukey is gaining confidence every day. When we arrived this morning he greeted us with a waggy tail! Xxx He loves to bury his head on your lap and has the most beautiful eyes. With extra grooming his coat is beginning to shine. He is a very handsome lad. Xxx

Mari has really been making herself at home this week...she has spent most of yesterday and today enjoying the sunshine in one of the runs, on her back with all her legs in the air! She looked so comfy. :)) She will be going off to her new home very soon, I'm sure there will be a Mari sized space waiting for her on the sofa! :)) Xxx

Josh
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Josh has been staying at the kennels for a few days whilst his Foster family have been away. He has been an absolute pleasure to look after. He was relaxed and enjoyed joining in the walks with the other dogs. :)) He was great with all the volunteers and loved a cuddle. He was very happy to see Erik when he popped into the kennels, he had a very waggy tail! :)) He wasn't too keen on our meals! Think he prefers his Foster Mom's cooking. :)) He went back to his Foster home this afternoon, he was so very happy to see Hannah and she was very happy to see Josh. :)) Xxxx
