I am desperate for someone to offer a home to Bobby. Last week his owner very sadly passed away and I brought him home with me. He has had a whirlwind of a week with going backwards and forwards to the kennels with me, in and out of vehicles and living with Tigger pup zooming around. He has taken everything in his stride but this fella is used to a gentle quiet life and I this is what an elderly boy needs. He is clean in the house, gentle on the lead and very affectionate. If you are interested or would like more information please call the kennels on 0121 782 7702. x

  • 2019 Daybreaks Diary!

    I’m Homed

After a foggy start it turned into another lovely sunny day. Many thanks to everyone who came along to give our boys & girls two lovely walks, they didn't need coats and it was nice for them to get some air around their bodies!! Ruth was on the Vet run this morning as she took Velvet off first thing to be speyed. She had to have some teeth out too and will be spending the night with Ruth & Andy. Both Jet & Rocky had some individual playtime in the sand run this morning, they enjoyed tearing round, chasing balls, sniffing and just generally revelling in being there. Rocky makes me smile as he does like to "talk" to you, and he was muttering away to himself in the run, then went and stood by the gate when he was ready to go back to his kennel, bless him. New boy Torc is gorgeous, but his kennel resembled a bloodbath this morning!! His split tail was wagged that much that he had sprayed the walls with blood!!! We bathed it and Ruth has put a very fetching bright blue bandage on it - he was such a good boy whilst all this was going on. Bobby spent the day with us again, and he truly is a beautiful gentleman. At one point, as Tig the pup was playing and generally being a mad pup, he stood with his head resting on Momma Lisa's back and they both just stood watching Tig - probably thinking "kids!!" It was so sweet to see, and also nice to see Momma Lisa gaining in confidence too. As another weekend approaches I will raise my glass, filled with a rather nice chilled white wine today, and wish for forever homes for our gorgeous Greys. Have a lovely weekend one and all - cheers. Angie xx

    I’m Homed

Despite the early misty start the sun slowly woke up and all that could had a nice morning walk. I firstly took Daisy & Torc. Poor debs was not impressed at having to wait for my second shift and it took me some time before Daisy & I were allowed out of the kennel!! Sorry debs, I thought because you are strong in the kennel you might be strong on the lead but actually when we did go out you walked beautifully and so I think your kennel enthusiasm is just joy at seeing hoomans, getting cuddles & hopefully getting out for walkies. Daisy, as ever, is very good on the lead and today kept trying to nuzzle into my knees on our return!! She obviously isnt interested in having any male doggy love as poor old Freddie got a very good telling off prior to walkies!! Daisy, can he help it if he fancies you!! Poor Freddie......no gent likes a knock back. Torc was also excellent to walk. Thank you Jet for my usual licks & nibbles. I know you are due to leave next week but hopefully not before Tuesday so I can say goodbye. Thank you also Treaty for washing me.....I dont know if I forgot to do my face this morning or we are just sharing the love! You are a great character and although I naturally wish you were in a home it is lovely seeing you again. Apologies to the boys and girls i didnt cuddle but I had to get home to my two boys. Great to see pup Tigs & Momma.....both looking so much better and obviously enjoying their new home. And lastly, but not least, the gorgeous Bobby. A stunning example of an older gent who has obviously been very well loved and looked after. A good weight with a beautiful shiny coat and plenty of life still left to be lived. After his initial shock at finding his mum he seems to be coping very well. Whoever takes him will I think have a very special and very friendly boy. Lovely to see Ruth with them all. Weekend wishes for potential parents for all the residents. Melly, Teddy and I are off to enjoy the last of the days sunshine before its too late.
