    I’m Homed

On his first visit to Elmdon Park today Stanley ticked all these sensible boxes 1) Travelled quietly in the car 2) Walked sensibly on the lead without pulling 3) Met other breeds of all sizes in a relaxed manner 4) Met a group of quite noisy small children in a calm manner Stanley although calm is a fairly cautious dog who hopefully will soon find that loving permanent home he deserves

Happy 5th birthday to our Monty!!! How has it been that long already? Feels like yesterday when it was your 2nd birthday. We love you so much, your treat demands and endless fuss, wouldn’t change it for the world! We have recently got a new caravan and even though you’re confused you’ve accepted it. You’ve welcomed new people close to us in the family and started to give them your demands! Today is your day so you can enjoy your pawty rings and doggy muffin!

Thank you so much to everyone for all your lovely comments after the sad loss of my little Skip last week. I have found them a great comfort. Xxx Thinking of all our wonderful Greyhounds who have made their way to Rainbow Bridge, and all those who are currently curled up in their beds or on the sofa, may God bless them all. Xxx

The saddest news to hear that everybody's favourite bearhound had to leave for rainbow bridge. 🙁 Kate, I hope you find comfort in 10 years full of wonderful memories, he really did have the most wonderful life with you and wanted for nothing. Skip was the first greyhound I met when I came to volunteer, and I know plenty of others had that same experience in finding out what an amazing breed they are from meeting him. An exceptional hound who will never ever be forgotten in the great tapestry of Daybreaks history, we'll still all be talking about him for years to come I'm sure. I'm sure Ellie has saved her good friend Skippy Doos a nice comfy bed to lie on up there over the bridge in a position where he can still supervise all the goings on. Sending you all so much love. xxx

Many apologies for the missing photos and disappearing comments on the website. Very sadly we have been told it is so very old we may end up losing quite a lot of the older information. :(( Xxx

A big thank you to Phil and his work colleagues for their very generous donation of food and treats for our Daybreaks boys and girls. :)) Despite Phil having to retire recently, he has said he will continue to raise funds for Daybreaks with the help of his work friends, and arrange a delivery of goodies from the Iceland store. 🙂 Michael cooked roast potatoes for all the dogs to go with their dinner this afternoon. Xx Phil told me he is keeping busy, his wife has a long list of things she wants doing! :)) Xxx

The lovely Brenda, always a clean kennel and waits quietly and patiently for her turn to come out of her kennel. This morning I had to disturb her and invite her out for breakfast - she was lying upside down with her legs in the air!!! X

    I’m Homed

I am totally smitten by this beautiful girl. As a mature lady myself I fully empathise with her need for a quiet life, lots of TLC and lots of love. Once she is familiar with you she is an absolute sweetheart, she always holds up the proceedings by standing up and putting her paws on your shoulders for a gentle cuddle before she reluctantly goes back into her kennel. Really hope she gets another chance at home life very soon, she so deserves it. Xx

    I’m Homed

This adorable soul had me in stitches this morning. Out in the feeding run we were obviously taking too long to bring his breakfast, so he pulled down a blanket that was folded over the bars and made himself a very comfy bed to sit on whilst waiting for food service! He may be a big fella but he is absolutely gorgeous, funny friendly and up for some fun. Xx

Kate, I have been struggling to find the words to express my heartfelt condolences to you, John, Lyra and Cracker. You gave Skip the most wonderful home, he loved everyone he met and they in turn loved him. He is now running fast and free with Twiggy and Bob. He will have everending egg and milk with Bob!! He was such a lovely boy and such a wonderful character. Now running fast and free, another beautiful angel called to the bridge. Much love to you, John, Lyra and Cracker. In my thoughts, xxxx
