I am so sorry for you. It’s such a painful loss. When Keano died last year I could not tell anyone because I couldn’t get the words out. One of my dear sons, who were both with me and Keano throughout, rang Kate to let her know and she was so kind. You are in my thoughts and prayers, love from Carol xx

Saddle
I’m Homed
I took Saddle to Elmdon Park yesterday to do lots of direction changes again to stop him pulling, and to give him more experience of being near other types of dog. He steadily improved through the time we were there, although still needs more practice. We met some large German Shepherds who were very loud and excitable and Saddle didn't bat an eyelid. He was more interested and reactive seeing smaller dogs and seemed anxious, but if we kept walking past them he coped much better, and we then stopped a few feet further on for me to gently stroke him and praise him, and he stood still for me and was much less reactive. He was definitely better with the other dogs than when I took him out with Roy 10 days ago, and he looked better today in photos that Jess took in the park today with Roy and a staffing sized dog. Onwards and upwards Saddle xx

2019 Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
I started this morning with a loving head butt from Sully! He is such a happy boy boy but I saw stars and if you see me with a black eye... I haven’t been fighting!!! A blitz of the kennels out the back which usually holds all our bedding etc meant we could accommodate little Stella and grateful thanks to Angie wielding the paint roller. Earlier she had sloshed some disinfectant down her cleavage so she has been having fun!!!! I’ve been feeling particularly rotten this week and tonight I’ve been diagnosed with shingles so I will be keeping a low profile until I’m a bit better:-(((

So very very sorry for your loss. Such a terrible disease, I know I lost one of my boys last year. Don't we just love their characters stubborn or otherwise, all so very different. Alfie, run free, run fast, meet with all of our hounds who have crossed the bridge and let them know we think of them every day, and I am sure you will be looking down on those who loved you so very much. God speed beautiful Angel. Xxxx

We took Ashley with us to the kennels to wait for us while we walked some of the dogs yesterday. Whilst he travels well in the car, which is now a mobile dog bed, he wasn't desperately excited to be put in the run, but he did have a nice sniff with his ex kennel mate - the super Susie. He is super with us, fairly good with fellow grey Charlie who he has met three times doesn't seem bothered by other breed dogs, he he happy for me to groom him, clean his teeth, he isn't bothered when I sit on the floor close to him when he's eating, so why does he growl at my lovely dog loving daughter when she is at my house but lays with his head on her lap when in the garden at her house??? Any ideas to nip this in the bud would be greatly welcomed.

I walked the wonderfully pretty Susie yesterday. She is super friendly, walks well on the lead and makes me smile seeing her laying totally relaxed pressed up against the kitchen run with assorted bits of her sticking through the bars!!!! Not very ladylike but very endearing xxxx

I walked this beautiful big strong lad yesterday. He is friendly, quite strong on the lead but I think that is because the outside world is new for him. He stopped and looked very interested in a plastic bag blowing in the distance but was completely not bothered by a flapping bird almost above his head!. I think he is going to develop into a real character. xx

I have only just been able to bring myself to let you know that we lost our best buddy and friend a couple of weeks ago, he was suffering from bone cancer and deteriorated very rapidly. He was the most handsome and laid back boy, always wanting to please you, enjoyed his walks and showed off when he met other dogs whether large or small, especially with the girls. He was a great character, a little stubborn when he wanted to be but we loved him dearly as he gave us lots of laughter, smiles and love. We have some great memories but things are certainly very different here. We miss him immensely. Run free handsome boy, you are now free from all the pain. Xxx
