I met Rory today - what a gent! He’s a beautiful mature hound who really does not deserve to have been abandoned after such a short time. It’s a sad reflection on people who adopt two beautiful hounds but lack the commitment to see through their promise to care for them for the rest of their retirement. We all know what we are commiting to when we adopt any animal but to give up after 3 months is quite shameful in my view. Rory is beautiful and deserves a loving home with his pal Kara. That can’t come soon enough.

It’s always so distressing to see returnees and I know that in almost all cases it will have been the toughest descision their owners will have had to make. None of us know what is round the corner when I took redundancy from a job I had been in 11 years that meant relocating and facing the prospect of having to commute to work instead of walking down to the office my overwhelming priority was my two greys, My solution was a friend who works part time in the village I live in who has her lunch at my house and lets my two houndies out for a run in the garden and gives them lunch. They now have a second “mum” who loves them as much as I do. Solutions are out there sometimes you have to be inventive. May be an elderly neighbour that would welcome the company of grey for the day whilst you are at work, a fellow dog owner in your village. Solutions are out there.

Oh dear - this boy broke my heart today. He looks so very, very sad. Kara was in the kennel with him and stood resting her head on his back as if she was trying to comfort him. He is a very handsome gentleman and seemed to enjoy his morning walk. When i left the kennels this morning he was lying on the floor looking wistfully through the bars. So hoping a new home can be found for him and Kara very soon. Sending him my cuddle tonight. xx

Tony came out for a walk with me and Casey this afternoon. You would have thought that Tony was the hound who had been to training class not Casey - he’s great on the lead and a very friendly chap.

It’s such a shame for this boy. He was in a home for a number of years and went everywhere with his father. Then for exactly the same reason, work!!!!!, he was returned. Twice now it just isn’t fair for this boy xxx

I can't stop thinking about Rory, poor old chap doesn't deserve to be back in kennels at his age, he so reminds me of my late greyhound Reggie, same beautiful colour and kind face, hope somebody takes him into their hearts and gives him the home he so needs, wish it could be us but sadly it can't. Big hugs to you Rory xxxxxx

Lovely pic not sure about the floral coat for a boy. You'll have to share the cuddle with your brother - which is also a lovely pic.

I’m so sorry! I bet it will be difficult for you. Especially if you are going to go separate homes this time. Hopefully you will be in a new home soon!
