Silky is such a sweet little girl who recovered very quickly from her spey and was as bright as a button. She can still be a bit wary, especially of sudden movement, but is such a friendly girl who was happily mixing with a gaggle of Greys in the kitchen! Cant really see her being with us for too long, she's a cutie.x

I just love this beautiful girl. She is always such a happy girl with a waggy tail who loves to give kisses. She was an absolute star with Bea the Beagle on Friday. Sending her a big cuddle. xx

Strange things are happening, another grey has appeared at home and has taken over the front room where I love to sit. To be fair the main thing stopping me getting in is the crate by the door where he is lying. I don't mind him being here and it's lovely to walk with a mate but I feel just a little unsettled. Mom and TC are giving me lots of love and treats so things can't be too bad. Florence xxx

Well sweetheart the deed is done - and I now have a lovely photo of you lying on your bed with your legs in the air as my phone screensaver. Let's hope that it works for you my lovely as you have been waiting so patiently, watching kennel mates come and go, it must be your turn next. Keep up the good work with your other breeds socialisation too, you did so well on Friday. You get my special cuddle today. xx

Once he realised what was happening Batney was happy to go for his walk. He did not pull on his lead. He was a little concerned by the main road but who wouldn't be after Friday! He meet 3 non greys and showed no aggression. With hesitation he let them greet him and greeted them back. He is now enjoying a tub of doggy ice cream. Xxx

Jembob it was lovely seeing Casey so happy to be with you and so settled. That is worth far more than any rosette or certificate and is exactly why we do what we do to help greyhounds get to this point. You've done such a good job with him and he was so close yesterday. You'll get that Bronze and Silver and Gold I've absolutely no doubt. Our Lena who ended up in the Obreedience team at Crufts 2016 had 3 attempts at Bronze so hold onto that thought! Love from Linda & Peggy. X

  • Dolly (Darcy)

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Hi Some of our Greys are very nervous specially because they have never ever seen a house, car headlights, street lights, other breeds 🙁 and they can all be very very frightening. Dominance in dogs has been disproven by the scientists who first started the (stupid) theory - how can ANY dog think it's dominant over a person who controls it's food and water? Dogs like to 'get along' and will usually avoid any conflict, if they do fight it's usually because all other options have been taken away 🙁 and they have no other option. If your other dogs are growling at Dolly you need to manage the situation so she doesn't try to run away (and escapes from your house) or feels she has to growl back which can cause conflict 🙁 Greys are very submissive so we need to watch they aren't being bullied by other more confident dogs. Why don't you bring her to my training class on Saturday mornings, you'll meet lots of lovely Greyhounds and their owners who have usually had similar problems. Greys love other Greys so it will give Dolly more confidence and you have four free sessions anyway. I always use and recommend harnesses - I always also have a lead with a clip at both ends so I can attach it to my harness at two places. I get mine from Mekuti, Tilley Farm TTouch or Xtra Dog. Hope you can make it to class,I'd also suggest you only walk for a very short time as Dolly's obviously worried and you need to build up her confidence so very short walks even to the bottom of your path/drive andback home, lots of lovely treats as you take her or probably better take her in the car to a quiet country footpath (not where loose dogs will come up to her) and let her mooch along, sniffing and relaxing (on her own with you at first) x

This lovely lad slept through the night without a whimper. Was happy to see us this morning and has started venturing out of the front room for short periods. Having done his business and eaten a hearty breakfast he decided to christen the lounge rug and my sewing table! Never mind it was soon cleaned up. He is still taking little notice of the cats but the look on Coco's face when he realised there were two greyhounds in the house was priceless, he looked back and forth between them as if to say "I don't believe it", neither he or Mr Darcy seem bothered by the new arrival though. Xxx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Barney is spending the night with us, he behaved in the car - well he took over the whole back seat and Florence had to stand up and unlike yesterday was reluctant to get out! He has decided the front room is his 'safe space' and immediately goes back there when he has been in the garden. He has pinched Florence's bed in there, when he got up she pinched it back so he decided to join her, she ceded it back to him! He has eaten a hearty tea and been impeccably behaved. Coco has biffed his nose and Barney took us all be surprise by licking Mr Darcy's ear as he walked past. He shows no real interest in them. He will make a wonderful pet in his forever home. Xx

Benny is currently lying on the living room floor next to me watching telly. It's been an eventful afternoon full of playing and exploring, but he's finally starting to chill. Hope the night's sleep goes well - will keep you updated!

Benny went home today! :)) He couldn't wait to jump into the car and be on his way. The look on his face was priceless when we were messing around trying to fit a pet gate in the back with him; he looked at us as if to say "Get on with it, I'm going home!" We will all miss seeing him at the kennels but wish him the happy life he so deserves. Xxx

Words cannot describe how wonderful it was to see Barney alive and well in the back of Ruth's van this morning! Despite our best efforts yesterday, it seemed we were always a step behind in finding him and it was so hard to have to eventually give up the search for the night. Everyone we spoke to was so helpful and desperate for us to find him, it's great to know there are still people in the world who care. Lots and lots of love to Barney. Xxx
