Thank you to everyone for their kind comments and support on here or social media. Most of you know that poor Barney was picked up from Fivelands vets following his castrate by one of our volunteers and on getting him home, he escaped from the car. Six and a half hours later, with the help of many wonderful people, it became too dark to continue searching. We set off as soon as it was light this morning, back towards where he was last spotted - by the collector road in Castle Bromwich and as we were driving there, I had a call from a local vets to say they had a driver report a dog at the side of the road that had possibly been hit. Moments later we drove past the lifeless looking boy half laying half in the road on the central reservation. My initial thoughts were that he wasn't alive due to how he was laying but as we screeched to a halt and I legged it across the dual carriageway, he miraculously leapt to his feet, crossed the central reservation and ran off up the middle of the collector road in the opposite direction..... I promptly followed, waving every car down telling them to slow down or help catch him. By the time I had caught up with him he was cornered by three vehicles and the relief to have him was indescribable. He has been checked over by the vets and other than being very shaky as he is so worn out and scuffs to his pads, he is a very lucky boy. I am grateful for the immense support of everyone - these precious lives are very precious! I do declare it is now wine time - when we have finished at the kennels!!!!!! 😉

Proud mummy time! My lovely Peggy has passed her Bronze Good Citizen test this morning (despite the 8am start which we are so not used to!) Onwards and upwards this girl is so clever and enjoys our weekly visits to training class to see all her friends and eat sausages! xx

Barney has been found. He was caught by Ruth on the collector road and is on way to vets. He seems fine after his little adventure. Yay. Thanks to everyone who came out looking and shared missing posts. X
