I would take the girls with you, they will be on the mattress for many more hours than you. We are quite lucky in Archive hates stairs so stays down and Jato has never even looked like trying them so is only Breeze who comes up - but only when it thunders !! I must be one of the few hound parents who hasnt got a bed full of skinny legs. xxx

Please tell me there are other 'houndy-hoomans' out there that can relate to this... John & I are looking to buy a new mattress (for OUR bed). Easy peasy I hear you say... but no, the issue we have is that when testing these mattresses, we're making the mistake of lying in the middle and deciding on the comfort level. Whereas, what we should really be doing is to lie on our sides, clinging to the edges (covered by just half a quilt) and asking the salesperson about its' 'trampoline-ability'. Or do we just take our two girls with us to test said mattress with lots of bouncing?!

    I’m Homed

Im so proud of Janet as she did her first 5k (3.1 mile) parkrun this morning and our parkrun official time came in at 00:44:06 - we will be celebrating this later with a pigs ear!! She still has had no mishaps in the house which for anyone looking on adopting this darling is a big plus. Janet enjoys her cuddles the more the better and loves the companionship of another dog, infact she is so kind that she cleans the top of Gigi's head and ears for her as she cannot do it herself. Janet loves dog toys and I really love playing with her in the garden with her big soft ball. This lady is such a big joy to have around and deserves to have a loving forever home.... however saying goodbye to her will be one of the hardest things ever xxx

I left Cotswold Needlecraft about 12 months ago, but we will be at the next Stratford walk. Part of me hopes Judy has a home of her own - but also be nice for Jato to see her again. Xxx

Phillip is a star... has today met the horses and the sheep (from a distance ) ...has found his spot too.. stretched out on the living room rug lol. Not interested in a lovely new bed or a comfy sofa... but he's happy and that's all that counts...

  • James

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

I have been too upset to post anything over the last few weeks. However, I wanted to thank you all for your wishes on the passing of my beloved dog James. James became part of our family in 2011 and settled into life with his forever family. We could never have wished for a better match, he was loyal, obedient, he had a great sense of fun but above all he was my best friend. Through the good and bad times he was present with a knowing look and a huge heart. Although he was more poorly than I could ever have known he stood by my side on my wedding day in March and loved every minute of the that special day. I was so proud of him. Our family will never be the same without him. I miss his footsteps on the kitchen floor, his eager eyes at dinner time, his quiet stubbornness whilst on our walks and his presence throughout our home. My border collie Arnold (the complete opposite personality) misses him terribly. To all the staff at Daybreaks kennels thank you for allowing me to own a dog as special as James, he truly changed my life, an angel in a racing jacket. We were truly blessed the day that we found each other. I am still so sad, but we will forever cherish the memories of this wonderful soul. Special thanks to Ruth for listening to all of my questions, for being there for all of the advice and especially for devoting your life to these wonderful hounds. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart, and I know James was eternally grateful for the chance that you gave him. Goodbye James, I love you and will miss you forever. X
