Banjo sounds like he's settled really well and is having a great time (apart from the pond episode - sorry Banjo but I had a little giggle!) ,it's so lovely to see them come out of their shell and develop their characters. You are very near us - we are opposite Farmer Johns so Sutton Park is a favouite of ours too. Xx

Hi all, many thanks for your comments. Had hoped to post an update sooner but it's been one of those weeks! Gosh, what a difference a week makes. Banjo has now mastered the stairs, albeit tentatively at first. He's discovered the luxury of the sofas and I awoke with him next to me on the bed this morning! He's getting on great with the girlie greys and is loving playing kiss-chase in the garden with them, apart from when he ran out in dark the other night and landed in the garden pond by mistake lol. He's no longer wary of us and comes up to us for fuss, he's just gorgeous. Quite a good guard dog surprisingly too, he barks when someone's at the door! Stevie,Sarah,willow&Max'smum..... I saw your pics and update of the lovely Max, I can't believe how much he and Banjo look alike! And Helenanddave.....we used to live in Great Barr but live not far from the Parson & Clerk pub now. Barr Beacon isn't a preferred walking area for us, but the steps come in handy for step training lol. They love walkies in Sutton Park and Perry Hall Park is just lovely. Am happy for you to get my contact details from the kennels should you like to get in touch, as you must live nearby! Thanks all for your support, and Happy Mother's Day - I even got a card from the dogs! Xxx

I’m Homed
Hi all, Thank you for all the lovely comments regarding Theo and of course Chappy & Cassie. Chappy has had another good night he truly has been no bother to us at all it's like he has always been with us which is great. We left them for half an hour yesterday and recorded them just to see how they were, delighted to say they both just went to sleep! Chappy is getting a little more confident on his walks and getting braver going into the garden on his own. Cassie seems fine and they walked happily next to each other this morning. We shall keep you all posted on Chappy's new adventures and thanks to Kate who called from Daybreaks yesterday to see how we were all getting on, everyone at Daybreaks have been brilliant. Thank you

Dylan (Glen)

Glen came along today to AvonVale vets in Stratford today and was an absolute star in all ways. He got on great with all who came inc children and other dogs. He met a 12 week old terrier puppy and showed no aggression or interest in him at all. He is a calm and peaceful boy and would make a Greyt addition to any home. I would highly recommend this wonderful boy to anyone. Please come and see this lovely lad.

Hi Chappy. So nice to read how well you are settling in and how well you are getting on with Cassie. I am sure Theo would be very happy to know you have got the chance to be loved as much as he was. Looking forward to more updates. xx

Jed
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Well for those of you who know Jed it's time to log another 'incident' this time the master has managed to tear another dew claw off add this to his aggravated back injury and he currently only has two good legs!! Bubble wrap suit has been broken out of storage yet again!!! As I have said before Jed I love you dearly, but REALLY!!!!!! This latest injury must have happened whilst in the house as he was sound coming back from his walk, and for those of you who know Jed's speed, or lack of it it's surprising how he managed to completely remove it with not even any blood!! I now have one very sorry looking and slightly grumpy hound. Lottie I am sure is laughing at him as she does high speed passing, fast turns and emergency stops with not so much as a chipped nail!!

So glad to hear Chappie has settled so well. I agree they never replace those we have lost but if our departed hounds could have one wish it would surely be to give a home and love to another hound in need.

Chappy
I’m Homed
We are updating you with Chappy's progress since collecting him yesterday. He has settled straight away and was delighted to see his new girlfriend cassie (also a rescue from Daybreaks) when we arrived home. He is continually wagging his tail and wanting a cuddle. He was no trouble at all overnight and has found his spot in the living room he is an absolute pleasure so pleased we picked him, well cassie did really????. Chappy will never replace Theo (Clause Trio) who sadly passed away last week we had 10 happy years with him and have no doubt Theo would approve of our new boy. Thanks to Daybreaks and we shall be back soon to give our two greys a run in the paddock and collect some more food. Best wishes Emma, Lee, Cassie & Chappy.

Over the Rainbow Bridge
My big brother, Jazz, went to heaven earlier this week. I will miss sooo much. He was such a good brother and always played with me. When he wasn’t very well, he let me finish his dinner without mom and dad looking J I went to the Lake District with him over New Year and had a fabulous time. We were soon to go to Cornwall and he told me all about the beach and how good it was early in the morning with no one around. If it wasn’t for Jazz I wouldn’t be in such a wonderful home. He didn’t go grumpy when I used to steal his bed or push past him to get to the fire. He was so tall that if I needed to get past him I would sometimes walk under him rather than round him. Once I was walking under him and I saw a cat so I stood tall and Jazz’s back legs were dangling in mid-air – he never battered an eyelid. He was so clam and placid. My mom and dad are giving me loads of fuss and tell me that he has gone to a happy place. I love you Jazz and always will x x x x x

Jazz (Andy)
Over the Rainbow Bridge
We sadly made the right decision for Jazz earlier this week. He was very sick and the cancer had spread throughout his body. He will be missed a great deal by his mom, dad and his sister, Dutchess. Jazz will never be forget and we will remember him for his funny side – If his mom ran down the garden, he would chase her and rock from his front paws to his back paws just like a rocking horse; a visit to Sutton Park was like giving him all the money in the world; he would run round in circles like a mad dog on the beaches in Cornwall; he loved a cheeky bit of fish on a Saturday night; when he wagged his tail, it was like a whip against your legs; many a times he has head-butt his dad whilst play fighting; he loved his food – we mean really loved his food; he loved visiting and walking in the Lake District. He will always be in our hearts. Good bye to our special boy. Love loads mom, dad and Dutchess.

I will miss you Chappy. I took you for one if your first walks when you arrived and you were so nervous we had to lift you off the bed! Over the weeks you have come out of your shell and now are always there waiting for your walk. You are a really lovely boy and I hope you have a super new life. Loads of hugs, gorgeous. Xx
