    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Wendy, I know just how you feel. We have had two moves in the space of a year and Lilah has gained a little more 'confidence' with each one. She has been most helpful; insisting on helping with unpacking the boxes and repositioning the tea-towels (a very important job, she tells me). We have had to re cat-train each time, especially on this occasion as Oscar has decided, after thirteen years, to become an 'indoors only' cat. His new favourite hobby is sitting half way up the stairs teasing Lilah! (she has been a star with learning to ignore him - again). Lilah's new favourite hobby is sitting guard at the bottom of the garden watching the 'passers by'. As a greyhound who can actually 'sit' she looks rather like a beautiful garden ornament. Life here in the Dorset countryside is lovely,(I think Lilah and Oscar would agree) but we miss our friends and the hounds at Daybreaks. Hope you are settling well in your new home and that Jed is recovering from his recent injury x

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Bess is having a scale and polish on Friday with extractions most very likely. What do I need to be sure of re anaesthetic, it has to be a lighter one for Greys, is that right? New vets are carrying out dental. I'll be a nervous wreck on Friday, even though of been through this before xx

Bob certainly knows how to charm the ladies! The Pet Blood Bank visited the kennels today...he had four lady admirers loving how he paraded around very proudly with a blanket he had just stolen! He later donated blood...well done Bob. Xxx

Please don't over look the handsome black greyhounds they are just as loving and when you get them in really good condition you should see how their coats shine. Chappie is a really lovely lad.

  • Norman (Jack)

    I’m Homed

Jack only arrived at Daybreaks 2 days ago but today paid his 1st visit to Brueton Park. On a lovely sunny morning the park was very busy with lots of dogs running free off their leads and although extremely curious in all that was going on Jack behaved in a very sensible and friendly way with all he met both human and canine with absolutely no aggression whatsoever. He travelled well in the car (jumping in without help) and although keen on the lead he does not pull too strong. He is a lovely cheerful dog who is going to make a wonderful family companion when homed. A very well named dog:- he really is a "Happy Jack"

  • Poppy

    I’m Homed

Poppy is staying with us for a few days as she had a biopsy of her pad and nose last week and has needed dressings. The results of her biopsy came through yesterday and she needs a scan of her liver which is going to be done on Thursday. This will hopefully give a diagnosis as to why she has the condition. If you would like to help with Poppy's vets bills we would be so very grateful. To make a donation you can click on any of the dogs for rehoming as there is a donation link. The best news however is that we have additional members to the Failed Foster Club as she has now a home!!!!! YAY!!!! xxxxx
