Our Mystic had a toe removed in July, he had a soft tissue injury which, despite numerous courses of antibiotics, would not heal, believe me we tried everything, the only solution was to remove the toe, he has coped really well and it hasnt affected his walking at all. I hope Charlotte feels better soon. X

oh dear poor Charlotte. I know there are few folk out there whose grey's have had toes amputated who can pass on their advice and experience. Hope the x-rays go OK and Charlotte is OK - sending best wishes Sam, Si, Robbie & Will xxx

it is almost a year now since we were allowed to take Charlotte home. She is brilliantly cute and also quite naughty. Everyone who meets Charlotte just adores her and she effects people so positively including the vet. I would like to ask a question a couple of weeks ago we noticed that she was limping could not see anything on or in her paws. after a couple of days I took her to the vet who could also not see anything but removed some very small piece from her paw. This did not improve so she had a minor operation on her paw. When I picked her up the vet mentioned to me that he is not sure what is going on. He explained to me that when he made the incision clear fluid come out of the pad with some blood. What concerned him was that about 30% of the fat in the pad was 'eaten away' and not clear if this may have affected the toe bone. Today following a check up the vet is not fully content with her progress so we will do a digital x-ray. Prior to potentially removing the toe. The vet has not given a diagnoses or understands what is happening Has any one come across something like this or knows what might be causing this. We will do what is best for Charlotte's health but also like to save her toe. Just a worry when even the vet does not know what is causing this or even what is happening.

I walked Poppy today. She was also very enthusiastic to be taken out of her kennel for her walk. Once we were out, she walked along with no silliness and was so gentle on her lead, it really was as if there was nothing on the lead. She's a gorgeous girl x J

This boy is lovely and playful and very shiny! When I got to kennels today, I went round to have a look at the residents and when I got to Pablo's kennel, he was lying comfortably on his bed with his head on his paws. He saw me and the end 6 inches of his tail started wagging pretty madly and eventually the rest of him joined in and he came over to say hello with much licking through the bars and jumping up. I got him ready for his walk later and he was very enthusiastic to be out. He is a little overexcited to begin with but settled and walked along well with Andy. He really is a happy little soul x J

Ahem - I'm not saying anything, but guess whose photo I took and made my phone screensaver on Friday?! This is now getting seriously spooky - whoever I make my screensaver gets homed very shortly afterwards!! Well done my pretty little girl, that makes a vacancy in Caddy's harem though but I'm sure he will find another lovely girl to join soon. xxx

What can we say about this lad that hasn't already been said! we had the pleasure of his company today at the Evesham country park. We were greeted by him with lots of kisses and affection as he enjoyed his day out. There were several people who were smitten with his charms as he leaned in for all the fuss on offer. We will be amazed and disappointed if he isn't snapped up very soon.Chris will make someone a wonderful pet,a truly super super hound. You get our electronic cuddle to go with all the real ones we had with you today xx

Chris has today joined the 20 plus other greys and their 'hoomans' at a really enjoyable Evesham Country Park Roadshow. What a brilliant turn out on a winters day !! Thanks to eveybody there. The many early Xmas shoppers there today gave all our dogs so much fuss and attention which all the dogs obviously loved. I'm sure many more people today have learnt what wonderful companions ex racing greyhounds can make. Chris behaved immaculately all day. He travelled well in the Trust van, loved meeting all his fellow greys and children of all ages and was also tolerant of the other breeds of dogs he met. He really is a fabulous affectionate well behaved calm dog who is going to make a wonderful addition to any family home.

Thank you all, I've passed on all those cuddles with real ones!. He is doing well, we saw Christian at Fivelands yesterday, his back is very bruised, but the wound is healing well and his elbows are less sore. He doesn't like being kept sedentary, he wants to run around with the other two, not have to be on his lead. At least we can start to take him for 5 mInute walks now. We go back to have the stitches and staples removed next Friday, and back to Dovecote on the 1st. Xx

so just let Carla and Carrie out for a wee and when they came back inside ,Carla just stood by where I was sitting for a while and for a moment I realised that whilst I love having greyhounds around , Im almost not rehoming them for me , rather for them, it makes me happy to see my girls happy
