Well, diagnoses back from the vet - he has a degenerative bone disease, mainly across his neck & spine, where some areas have calcified. So any banging, grabbing etc he will feel it twice as bad. So it's pain killers for the bad times in the future. However, we had to laugh - apparently he came to in an instant & nearly destroyed the place, Chris the vet said he had to practically sit on him for 20 mins!! Came out with battle scars on his head - that's the Mouse!!! It is very quiet in our house too & Charlie has been walking around looking for Ash, crying very quietly. But we are keeping him busy with play & lots of little outings.

Paws for thought....Today I got up lunchtime having worked a night shift.Got the kids ready and went for walk.On return-both kids hungry so did them sandwiches while I got on with chores.Stripped their beds-plumped up cushions, clean sheets and covers and vacuumed around them....always plenty of crumbs, fluff etc.Next...sort tea menu for later-veg,pasta,meat etc.Played chase with kids in the garden to wear them out(and me!).Drinks-tea for me,milk for them and biscuits. They had a snooze,I started tea.Dad came in! Kids fed-now both asleep, heads on sofa, feet up the walls...no respect! Finally I sit down, satisfied all happy.A short stroll later and maybe a snack and bed. Phew! Normal day for a mom with kids I hear you cry but ours are the four legged kind...Greyhounds with attitude!! Its a dogs life!!!!!! ha ha xx

Max update x Firstly thank you all for your lovely comments it is so nice to see how much Max is loved ! Our boy is currently downsidehup with all his legs in the air, his tongue poking out so a fairly normal evening. He is eating all his food so hopefully he won't be such a skinny ribs soon. He loves his walks, running in the garden, up and down stairs then more up and down lol. He is such a nosey boy into everything, he came to see me at work today and wouldn't even look at me until I took him exploring. His brothers and sister seem pleased he is back too xxx

Melysa, Sam and Charlie, so very sorry to hear about Ash. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but it is obvious he meant the world to you and you to him. You gave him the home and love he needed when he needed it most. I know the heartbreak you are feeling so be kind to yourselves and remember you couldn't have done any more for him. Love and hugs from me, Andy, Champ, Surprise, Daisy and Roxy xx

Yayyyyy....the sofa will be arriving sat 15 August. We all had a lovely weekend. All the boys were good in Elmdon Park. They didnt even really raise an eyebrow at the ducks, not in the water or whilst waddling along the path. We couldnt all quite fit in the bed......may have to consider a king size if it will fit in.....so Henry had to sleep in bed in bathroom whete he could keep an eye on us all. However, he got a couple hours cuddles with me in the morning when Archie gallantly gave up his space. He still loves my neck, choosing to sleep with his front legs entwined around it although he is learning not to dangle from it but just put them round for a cuddle. Hes a tall lad, bit bigger than Melly. He will come home next weekend for another sleepover and then we are a go go soon after. They all seem to get on well enough to tolerate any differences so Im delighted. We are really looking forward to this super placid affectionate lad joining us for many years of good times. Thank you everyone for your interest and support. Its been so appreciated. Live Seana, Mel & Archie xxx

Dear Melysa & Sam, I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. What you did was truly extraordinary.....the love and care you gave him kept him going, but his poor old body had just had enough. (To see him trotting about at the Party was just amazing!) I know how heartbroken you both must be.....BIG hug for you (((xXx)))

Melysa I did not have the pleasure of knowing Ash or meeting you but I do know that the love we have for our hounds is a special and unique gift. I firmly believe that it is the dog who finds the owner - and clearly you and Sam were just the right people to care for Ash - how wonderful he found you. Xx
