Think you got mixed up slightly Muddypaws - not my birthday but Sue's (Tim's wife and my mum). I believe we might share the cake though if Gemma doesn't eat it all before Stanley gets any. She is a great hoover.

Your lovely Gemma is our Flossie's sister, we rehomed Icemaid Mindy and its Flossie's (Icemaid Flo) birthday also on the 11th June. Mindy was a most lovely of ladies, we just went to the trust to see her daughter when she came into the trust and took her home. Although they do not look alike, Flossie being Fawn. Her trainer is a lovely man and spoken to him in the past. Have a great day Gemma and we will at this end with our Flossie. Wishing Gemma a Happy Birthday for tomorrow as will be off celebrating her birthday and of course her human Sue's too. Gemma will be 9 tomorrow and Sue is 21 again!!! It wont be long before she has the tissue out of my pocket trying to see if there are treats there. She knows me well as does Stanley - I never arrive without. Hopefully enough cake for all 2 greys and 6 humans. Annaxxx

    I’m Homed

Hi all, any help from anyone who has had any experience of what I am about to describe would be very appreciated. Beautiful Tilly has always been really sensitive around hoer back end and very nervous of too much contact there hence why she doesn't like boy dogs as they bother her too much. She has also been getting quite stiff and was previously diagnosed with the early on set of arthritis. After some tests yesterday, we have had some preliminary results back. She has creatinine kinase levels of over 1,000 u/l which are apparently off the chart. From what we can see, even greys (who have higher levels due to increased muscle mass) have levels of around 300 maximum. In essence, she appears to have muscle degeneration. She has also developed some head nodding in the last 24 hours which could be linked with nerve damage. We are arranging a full MRI to determine the extent of tissue damage but wondered whether anyone had had any experience of this and what the outcome was and whether it can be managed or reduced.

    I’m Homed

Well....... we have had this lovable loon for a year now then - and she still shows no signs of calming down! We are convinced she is part collie or springer spaniel - she has a 1hr - 1.5 hour walk in the mornings and then still dashes into the garden to play when you get home. Then the same in the afternoon! The 'snoozy grehound' tag certainly doesn't apply to her. She adores cuddles on the sofa and is a proper daddies dog. Sadly she didn't celebrate her gotcha day in the greatest fashion - instead she had an emergency operation to remove a large splinter from her paw - and now she cant be walked for 10 days. Bearing in mind, what I have said above - that could be interesting as she is already stir crazy only 1.5 days later! Indeed - we seem to be going through the wars with the girls at the moment. Smartie has only just come off a temporary diet of renal food following an unexplained kidney scare which has hopefully righted itself now; Angel has been unwell following ingestion of lego(!) and so is currently on a special diet for a week or so to sort that; and Tilly went in for an op yesterday which has potentially diagnosed a degenerative muscle disease worsened by racing. Just hoping that Rhia stays fit and healthy - but currently feeling like we live at the vets, so hoping all are on the mend and that we are just getting everything out of the way in one hit!
