    I’m Homed

Sadly Zeta has been returned today. Her owners have found it hard to help her to settle and feel she may be happier in a home with another dog. They say she is a very affectionate girl and is cat friendly....although they say she was frightened of their cat and think this may have added to her stress. I am sure the right home environment is out there for this beautiful little girl. Xxx

OMG! How adorable is this little lady? Answer = VERY. John, Rosie and I popped into Daybreaks this afternoon and found Lucky sharing the kitchen run with Tommo. Well, I just had to go in and have a real life cuddle with them both which was wonderful. I found out that Lucky has been reserved today which is fantastic news and if our few short moments of snuggling today are anything to go by, this gorgeous girl will be a wonderful addition to any home. Be so very very happy beautiful. Tash x

    I’m Homed

Thanks for asking about Belle. She's doing pretty well thanks. She is going for short walks now. She goes onto 3 legs as soon as she gets stressed. She's keen to go out but is very anxious as soon as she sees a car or people. She wears a harness but it still doesn't feel safe as she buckaroos a lot. We'll have to work on that. Her wound is still open but getting smaller slowly. As she has plates in her leg it's the risk of infection getting in through the wound. We'll be so happy when that wound heals 🙂

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Just a quick update on little Willow. She arrived home on Sunday afternoon, had a good look round. She did become a little stressed, quite understandably as new hoomans, new house, and a floor she does not like!!! She slept upstairs and we did not hear a peep out of her. Monday I managed to book the day off, so was at home with her and Stevie & Sarah. Again she was a little stressed, but with lots of toys and the floor being covered to make it easier for her to get around she settled. Yesterday, when I went to work she apparently cried and barked, but she did settle. Last night there was a great improvement with the flooring situation and she had a ball playing with all the toys, that was until Stevie took them upstairs one by one, only for us to bring them back down for her. Again she slept upstairs and was an little angel. This morning she went out, had breakfast and trotted around quite happily. I came out to work and as I left she was on the sofa throwing a pheasant and a duck around. She is so lovely and the others are great with her too. Will have to see how she has been when I get home (my Boss has been letting me leave a bit earlier each day this week, although there is generally someone in at various times of the day). Willow I hope you settle quickly and enjoy your time with us. xxxxxx

Brae is a very sweet girl. She suffered a broken hock before coming into the kennels...so would only need gentle walks and of course a nice comfy bed to call her own. In return she would give you all her love and more. Xxx

    Over the Rainbow Bridge

Poor Jed failed to negotiate the turn into the kitchen at high speed this lunch time for his biscuit and collided with his food bowl and stand which in turn up ended his water bowl and stand as well. He was one sorry mess of greyhound covered in water. I have also just found out that Jed doesn't do snow and we have loads of it this evening the morning walk is going to be interesting.

It has been so lovely to read about the famous five !! I agree with muddy paws , we had a similar situation with Blade, sadly blade and Harry were brought back as older dogs who had lived together a long time when their owner passed away, Both Harry and blade were fostered straight away ( we fostered blade) and some weeks later we organised for them both to be reunited, I think that I was expecting them to be over the moon at seeing each other, but they just exchanged a hello with hardly a wag of the tail between them, both Harry and blade had moved on to their new lives with their new grey hound families, which is wonderful to see that they are both happy in their new lives but part of me was sad , they are just amazing animals , I thank my lucky stars everyday for Bertie and blade, and thank goodness for charities like Daybreaks xx

Hi - just a little message for my previous lovely family. It was great to see you all again on Sunday and you dont have to worry about me, I love it here with my new buddies and mom and dad are real sloppy with me. I get loads to eat (although I always want to eat more, mom has said she may change my name to Oliver 'cause I always want more!) Lots of love to you all. Thanks for coming to see me. Louis XXXXXXX
