Jeff , sounds very like ours we can open their room to outside, which is great cos when we all out our nieghbour lets them out and we can lock the inside door. Again i would say consider a glazed door of some kind( between the house and them) the difference since we swapped is huge- we all know how nosey greys are! or it could be they dont feel so closed in. Xxx

I went to see Ada yesterday evening and she was much more settled with the Chinchilla! Since being left I was told she had watched a film whilst curled up on the sofa, eaten her dinner and had a play! Personally I find it so hard to leave a dog that has been living in my home and been so involved in - I find I become even more protective especially after all Ada has been through with her recovery.... I guess that's why so many join the Failed Foster Club but I am being strong this time!

Carla
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Thanks NMD07 , thats what I was looking for , there is a little bit of method in my madness as Carla is a tad chewy and has gone through amongst several things which include carpets and my bed , some electrical cable which luckily was off , well it was the vacuum cable and then an extension cable . The idea is to make a safe warm comfortable space for them which is not too distant from the feel of the house and introduce them to it very slowly , Carlas destructive habits seem absolutely random but seems to happen at about one episode per week , despite my best efforts with diet and leaving treat balls and toys and walking her for much longer and on different routes ,it seems good for a few days then I come home to an upside down house , Ive never had a dog that's chewed before , so any advice on that will be welcome , I'd like to get to the route cause and stop it to be honest

Prince

Great to hear how well Prince got on in the park with Joyce. :)) love the photos! He spent today in the big run by the kitchen and was brilliant, very little barking and shared his space with two visiting pet greyhounds with no trouble at all. Xxx

Prince

I love this boy so much!! I worked with Prince during the Tony Knight training course last weekend and I took him for a little trip to the park yesterday to continue our training, I have to say the change in him from the start of the training to now is simply amazing!! At the start of the training course he was quite keen but yesterday it was like walking a different dog. No pulling on the lead, no barking at other dogs, at one point a squirrel was directly in front of us but that didn’t faze the gorgeous Prince he simply walked with me once I’d changed direction (Tony Knight training tip, stop, start, change direction!) We encountered many different breeds on our walk yesterday, some very small and fluffy; Prince simply walked the other way with me or passed the other dogs with no issues. He really is picking up the training very quickly. I will continue taking Prince to the park for little day trips and to progress with his training until he finds his forever home. He really is the most gorgeous loving boy and I am certain he will make a family very very happy!!

Our three houndies have been going on their holidays to Bark Inn kennels for the past four years and we can recommendd them. Our three are well cared for there, well fed and come back home with no problems. Michelle and the team certainly care for the greyhounds that are on holidays are waiting for a loving home. Yes they have moved to Aldridge way now.

Prince I'm so happy that you had a lovely time in Elmdon Park, it is nice for you to get out from the kennels for a while. Well done for remembering your training and being a good boy, I really hoped it would help you because you are so lovely and need a home of your own now. Keep up the good work my big boy, sending you some special cuddles. xx

Prince had a great time at Elmdon Park with Joyce, one of our volunteers, on Sunday (the three new photos show his trip!). With the help of the Tony Knight training course that Joyce and Prince attended last weekend, he is already making massive steps in change of his behaviour. He was really good meeting the ducks and several other breeds of dogs with no lunging and pulling. We have noticed his behaviour change at the kennels and he has been much quieter this weekend. If you would consider giving Prince a home, Joyce will happily help you with his handling and training..... he really is a fabulous, loving, handsome boy......

Lady
Over the Rainbow Bridge
Lady has settled really well and is being good as gold. We have been away with her for the weekend to a family reunion, where she met lots of new people, including some boisterous toddlers and another dog dog which she took in her stride. Everyone commented about how good she was. We have finally found her stubborn side this morning when I tried to walk her in the rain!!! That is obviously never going to happen......we didn't get more than 100m down the road before she stopped dead and wouldn't move, looking back at the house.
