    I’m Homed

Just an update on toney, he is still being a good lad for us ie sleeping at night and going to the loo outside. Getting on very well with ripple, no arguing and looking at the pair of them now they are asleep in their beds in the same position facing the same way like twins. He saw some ducks down the canal the other day and decided it was a good game to walk up and bounce at them to see how many he could make jump back into the water. He does seem to prefer big dogs better than small ones when we are out on our walks, he tends to growl at the small ones especially whilst we are talking to their owners but soon stops when told no. He does like to look at those naughty things called CATS but after a couple of no's and come on toney he gets on with the walk, it might be a different matter if and when we see one run so with keep you posted.

Hi Lin I am so sorry for your loss, a lot of us have gone through it, and it is so heart wrenching, I actually live on the outskirts of stratford upon avon ! And the kennels are only 30 mins away, why don't you go along and meet dusty, and the others, dusty is a lovely girl beautiful with a lovely nature, she will be snapped up as she has everything going for her, but I would recommend you visit the kennels , take your lurcher with you as sometimes you look on the website and read about a dog and think it could be the one and when you get to the kennels another one who you had not even considered steals your heart, or your lurcher may just pick the one !!! If you are in stratford on the 31st we have a BBQ event taking place, you would be very welcome to pop along ( see events page ) I would really recommend that you give Ruth or Kate a call at the kennels and have a chat to them, I would not think that getting a home check would be a problem, kind regards Michelle

hi michelle thankyou ; we are at stratford upon avon next week as we have a holiday caravan there which we take our pets at all times so not far from you ; pets are now chaz and birds ; we have very recently and sadly lost our rescue greyhound sally to a heart tumer; we have another rescue that lived with our rescue sally for around 5yrs ; lurcher cross boy chaz ;approx. 7-9 yrs old he can be slightly bossy at times but got on very well will sally once he got to know her and she is missed by all ; we will have to find a match for him ; and the prospect and happiness / interest of the importantly new adition ; into our family life and routine ; we do actually live in Basingstoke hants ; i expect a home visit first would be needed to home any of your rescues doggies in advance;we have had home checks for all out four rescues in the past 30yrs ; last one being about 5yrs ago not sure how this would be with living quite away ; to meet dusty and find out more about her would be great ; she looks a lovely dog along with your others

Good to hear Prince slept through the night. Do hope the more dogs he meets the better he will be with them. I used to play games with Twiggy in the garden, including a bit of agility work! Helped to keep her occupied and wear her out! Xxx

Mixed day so far. A very good night's sleep, Prince slept through. Gets bored very easily at the moment and needs toys or us to occupy him most of the time. Struggled on the walk when meeting a couple (of well behaved and on leads) Jack Russells.

  • Duggie

    I’m Homed

A few grumbles when Duggie met Misty and Lucy but then all ok. A quiet night all together in the doggie den till 6.30 am when they all decided they needed nervous wees...Misty is not usually rising n shining till about 9am! Duggie leans in for a cuddle and loves a massage...he's just a big softie really. We met a friend on this morning's walk and only had a couple of very short grumbles from Duggie so that wasn't bad. Has eaten well and is now flat out in the lounge. xx
