Over the Rainbow Bridge
I went to say hello to Alex and there he was upside down airing his operation!!!!!. He is such an adorable boy and it was lovely to see his badly bits starting to fur up (the aloe vera seems to be working. He was so placid having his 'onesie' removed for grooming. Lovely temperament. Walks well on his lead. Xxxxx

I am heart broken to receive the news that Tracey Haden who lived in France who had adopted numerous dogs from Daybreaks has sadly lost her battle to cancer. Our thoughts are with her family.

So, first night/morning with Joe. He’s a live wire! But how lovely to see such a friendly, inquisitive lad. He’s loving life. He settled well and lay on the kitchen mat while I prepared and served people tea. And laid in one of the many dog beds while we ate (off low-ish) tables. He loved his own food although I think we’ll use a slow feeder today. He’s found the toy box and worked out how to get the toys out if it (even though I’d put them all away). Today he’s enjoyed shredding our weekly TV guide and has now crashed out in the sunshine outside. Not a bad start despite some singing and shouting in the dormitory last night. To be continued…..

Daybreaks Diary!

The weather has turned chilly again, despite that we had a good day. Handsome hounds Joe and Joey both went out to their respective foster homes, so happy for them both. There were several sand run bookings, including a beagle party which is going to be a regular Sunday booking! We also had a viewing, fingers crossed that one of the two gorgeous hounds viewed may find their forever home. The family are coming back tomorrow with the younger family members to see which would be the best suited to their family. Our two new arrivals from Friday seem to be settling well. Many thanks to everyone for their help today, it is really very much appreciated. There was also a great deal of interest in my little girl Peanut! She 'mugs' everyone for love and fuss, she is such a friendly tiny little girl. Joey's foster family wanted to take her home!! All inmates were coated, tucked up in bed and had the heaters on in the kennel block, they all looked very comfortable and contented when I checked before leaving. As always, stay safe and well. X

No worries about the picture, we are just so happy to have Alfie now officially part of our family. 🙂 He is indeed a wonderful boy and will be a great companion for Bobby. We felt Bobby was feeling lonely since we lost our beautiful Kitty last June. Thank you to all of you at Daybreaks, for everything you do. xx

The very gorgeous Joey has gone out to a foster home, fingers crossed all goes well, if so he may well have a home to call his own. Thanks so very much to his foster family for taking him on, they have experience of looking after a grey with his condition so have all the knowledge needed to take care of him. xxx

Mikey's Foster family were due to come in and officially adopt him today but sadly they both have Covid and had to postpone. They say he is doing great with them and hope to come in next weekend to give him that Green sign we all want to see! Wishing them both a speedy recovery. Xxx

It was a very busy day today... This morning Alfie was officially adopted. :)) He bounced in with his lovely new family, had a race around the sand run and then went off to carry on enjoying his new life. :)) Such a very happy and joyful lad. Xxx Little Rosie went home with her great new Dad! Wishing them lots of great times together. :)) Xxx We had lots of visitors to use the sand run and appointments for a pamper with Lorna. Tina was also here this afternoon with clients for her Reiki treatment. 🙂 Xxx We had a viewing too and a visit from a lovely couple who are hopefully going to Foster out special boy Joey. Xxx In between there were walks and health checks for our residents. Many thanks to Noah for giving Rosie a health check and a groom before she went home. Xxx Xxx
