jeff, how great to read your update on the girls. so pleased how well they are getting on and how lovely so many people stop you to talk and compliment. we only have one (i would like 2, but not sure we have the room) but it is lovely when people stop to admire them and ask questions. xx

I must say , Kate , it has exceeded my expectations having 2 greyhounds , they are so easy and I just want them to be the absolute best they can be . People who have passed me by before with Teddy and Carrie and just said Hello, sometimes asking what sort of dog Teddy was are now stopping to chat and comment on how good they look Both Carrie and Carla now have several people who have made a fuss of them who they recognise and spot before I do and they both bow and wag furiously ,this one lady almost made Carries tail fall off from how excited Carrie was to see her again although they've not been mistaken for Dalmatians yet , but come christmas time , they are both getting Reindeer horns just for the crack , so they might get mistaken ..poor Twiggy how insulting to think she's a normal dog ! Actually , Ive just been looking at winter greyhound coats and found some with a hood that with the right choice of colours will look just like my Parka. And one final thing , for now , Peanut butter and Sardine sandwiches actually taste really good !

Oh Jeff, this is brilliant news! It's lovely when people compliment your Greyhounds isn't it? Twiggy was not over impressed recently when a young lad asked me if she was a Dalmatian...! I bet Carrie and Carla look beautiful together. Xxx

Whats Black and weighs exactly the same as a 25Kg bag of coal ????... Ok, strictly speaking you'd have been correct if you had answered "a bag of coal" but you would have also been correct if you answered " Carrie" , she's exactly 25Kg this morning , Carla was 25.6Kg and I wish I had £1 for everyone that tells me how good my dogs look , the comments on this mornings walk ranged from , "are they young dogs ?" to "what a handsome looking couple "

Duggie
I’m Homed
Duggie has been at home with us since Saturday evening (as we took over the kitchen run where he normally lives to set up for the open day!) We have had a few grumbles but now he has settled in just fine. He was very grumpy on his walk yesterday morning when he saw dogs in the distance and yet he is great with other breeds in the kitchen at the kennels! I am going the Dog Listener Training with him (https://www.rgtperrybarr.co.uk/events/743/) to see if we can work things through and help him but this is not until 22nd August. He is ok with people he knows and trusts, but those he doesn't - he gets very anxious with and will growl if approached. I have ordered him a jacket so people are aware that he has issues and hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. He needs a quiet home, with just adults who will totally give him his space especially when he is on his bed as this is where his main issue is. He LOVES playing with a tennis ball and does seem to enjoy the company of other dogs. With having Ada at home at the moment and another poorly grey, I really need to take him back to the kennels but just can't bear to...... please give me a call if you think you could foster or (even better) offer a home to this fella..... Ada
I’m Homed
Beautiful Ada was dropped off at Daybreaks on Sunday by her foster parents. I took her home overnight and then we set off early yesterday morning to Nottingham to East Midlands Referral Centre which is a specialist centre for her to have her plate removed as sadly her leg is still not healing. I arrived back home after a nightmare journey (the M1 slip road was closed off) at around 7.30pm with a very wobbly little girl. She has had a very settled night, has had her breakfast and tablets and is back in her crate. The next few days are critical - she is not allowed to move around unless on a lead in the house as there is no plate to support her leg and she has had recurrent infections so the skin is extremely thin and fragile. I am taking her back to Nottingham on Thursday for a review. She is a very brave little girl after all she has been through since breaking her hock last year. She gets my hug today!
