Over the Rainbow Bridge
Paddy (Saratoga Paddy) 1st October 2008 ~ 23rd March 2022 age 13 & 5 months. It is with great sadness that Paddy has crossed over rainbow bridge today. After waiting 6 months for a home, he was adopted back in December 2014 and he enjoyed life to the full. It was thanks to dear Ele who immediately bonded with Paddy, she made sure Paddy was to be her companion. If ever I’m in need of a smile I read the comments from back then. Famous for only having one ear, he was a perfect ambassador for greyhounds, very laid back and friendly to all with not a bad bone in his body. His friendliness even extended to cats later on and during his older days even squirrels were not worth bothering about. In his last years he enjoyed the quiet country life ambling around his large garden nose in the air while his brother and sisters run around. The introduction of Belle gave him a spring in his step with a new young girl on scene in August 20. Sadly as we all know when old age comes so do health problems but as always he dealt with them as best he could with no fuss. I often joked his back legs had declared independence as he would look at them sometimes as if to say why won’t you work properly. Other issues added to his problems and falls became more frequent. It became clear that he was struggling and not happy and the decision to help him to the bridge had to be made. Dear Paddy I have so many happy memories, I just hope your legs are fit again. RIP and Run free now dear Pad and find Spritz and Ele, I’m sure they are waiting for you. Thanks for all the good times we shared, you will be missed by so many far and wide. I always enjoyed telling people how friendly you were when we met new dogs, a quality you passed onto Belle. You will be a very tough act to follow. Until we meet again xx

Lovely Joey is still waiting for someone very special to offer him a home with them. He does have health issues but as Ruth said in an earlier post his medication would be supported by Daybreaks. If you are interested in meeting him or would like more information please call the kennels for a chat. Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
I was so jealous Norman got to take Alex out to the park this morning! :)) I really adore this very special boy. 🙂 We had good news from his recent trip to the vets. He had a skin scrape as we were quite worried about the amount of hair loss he has suffered whilst he has been away from the kennels. Nothing nasty was found and hopefully with a lot of tlc and Aloe Vera spray his coat will soon begin to improve. A very happy new home would work wonders for him! Xxxxxxxx

Daybreaks Diary!

What a beautiful spring day! So good to be able to take the fleecy coats off the dogs and see them enjoy going for their walks in the warm sunshine. Good for us too...it's been a long winter. Xxx Many thanks to Norman for taking our wonderful Alex to the park. He had a lovely time and had a long nap on the bed under the desk in the office on his return. :)). We had a brilliant delivery of food, treats and toys this morning from a lovely person who won a competition at Crufts and donated the prize to Daybreaks! Thank you so much. Xxx We also had a lovely delivery of fish and a donation of treats. We are so grateful for the wonderful support we receive. You can be sure our residents appreciate everything they receive. They all enjoyed a nasher stick to go to bed with tonight. Xxx

All of our hounds deserve their forever home but this boy so deserves his when it comes after 176 races. He has earned his retirement 10 times over so I hope his wait will be short. He does have a fan club going at Daybreaks and its not hard to see why, he's a super boy with lots of love to give. So sad his recent reserved sign cancelled but as we always say, it has to right for everyone. Keeping everything crossed your forever family come along soon xx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Since Alex was returned to Daybreaks he has captivated everyone with his happy friendly temperament. Such a lovely lad. Today he visited Elmdon Park which he loved. His ears were constantly erect with absorbing all that was going on. Very happy to meet new people and other breeds in his usual happy tail wagging manner He walks sensibly on the lead and jumps into the car of his own accord. I'm certain who ever gives this lad his new home will find him a wonderful companion to have living with them.

Monty (Chase)

A update on Monty. He still gets me up on my day off or holiday very early and let’s them all sleep till late when I am at work. The cat friendly greyhound definitely don’t like cats. He loves his humans very much and loves to go out with us all the time. We take him everywhere and he will wait and not move if somebody is lagging behind when on walks. We are all very proud and amazed at the most loveable clever greyhound you could ask for. Gone is that very shy scared to go out don’t come anywhere near me grey to come on humans it’s meal, treat and walk time. We all love him so much.
