Jo also had a trip to Birmingham Dogs Home on Sunday to pick up Roman who had escaped from his owners home. His owner is sadly very poorly at the moment so I collected him yesterday afternoon from the kennels and later he went to a foster home. It was a beautiful day for my day off especially after the madness of Saturday and wonderful weather helped my current training for the London Landmarks 100 mile ride in May - during this I had to keep stopping to answer calls regarding Roman so next time I’m taking my ear pods!

Daybreaks Diary!

Yet another busy day! Sand run bookings, nail clippings, dropping off of very generous donations, oh and a beagles party in the sand run this morning. This was the second week of what looks like a regular Sunday booking. I have no idea how many there are, but it's A LOT!!!! Sadly River was unreserved today, please don't let his age put you off, he is a lovely boy. It was so busy that I started the very handsome Chase's homing this morning and finally completed it at around 4 o'clock this afternoon. He is now the official brother to Maisie Moo. Well done Chase, you will be so very loved and spoiled. Thanks to our fantastic volunteer Dave for giving him a loving home after fostering him since January. Thanks to everyone for their help today, thanks also to Liz for taking Joe out to the park and also to Kitty's parents Ned and Jackie for taking Joey for an outing this afternoon. Well, another week is upon us, let's hope for more red and green signs. We have so many deserving dogs looking for their forever homes (they are all deserving I know), but it can be unsettling for the returnees. Stay safe and well everyone. X

Bertie (Joe)

Joe came with me to Elmdon Park today. He is such a handsome boy. He was so excited when I went in to lead him up and was very happy to be out of his kennel. He walked well and enjoyed all the new smells in the park. We met dogs of all sizes and he said hello politely to them all. Whilst he behaved perfectly with all the dogs he met, I did get the impression that he was tolerating some of them rather than enjoying meeting them. One little teddy bear dog ran at him and he jumped about ten foot in the air and then stood about a meter away from him with a look as if to say 'what did you do that for?'! Bless him, for a big boy he seemed little bemused by a small dog with a big personality! He loves his fuss and happily let some children stroke him. Here's hoping that someone falls for this affectionate and happy boy very soon xx

Daybreaks Diary!

What a crazy day today, lots of ups and downs.... This morning Roxy, Dee and Denver all came in for their post Homing health checks. All of them are really doing great in their new homes and settling well. Thanks you so much to their new families for giving them wonderful loving homes Xxx Pretty little Robin came into the kennels and within a few hours found herself Reserved! A fabulous family travelled a good two hours with their own three beautiful dogs to meet her. They brought cocktail sausages for all of our residents...they loved them. :)) Xxx Padfoot Paddy came in to be officially adopted! He was such a patient boy while we were completing his paperwork. 🙂 Lovely Homing photo too. Xxx Sahara now Marli was signed up too! Brilliant to see she has been reunited with her litter Brother. :)) Xxx Rosie found herself reserved. She is a super little girl. Xxx This afternoon Bill was returned. :(( So very sad for this lovely, happy lad. Hoping he will soon find a new home. He has gone home with Ruth tonight. Xxx In between all of these comings and goings we had visitors for the sand run and donations of bedding. Lorna had a couple of pampers too! Xxx Ruth and I are so grateful to everyone for Their help today. Thanks to Angie and Michael for cleaning and feeding all of our residents early this morning before anyone else arrived! Xxx thanks to Jess for doing nail clipping and feeding everyone this afternoon. Many thanks to all of our walkers too! You are all Fab!! :)) Xxx
