I logged into the website to do my Daybreaks Diary post and saw Daybreaks Ruth had already posted. I don't know if she mentioned how cold, wet damp and miserable it was, but it was flipping cold, wet, damp and miserable. Congratulations to Pauline for her reservation today, something good to brighten the day. Xx

Well it’s me in trouble this time my hooman mum has been training my naughty sister Penny to stop jumping up when she does come home I does wait until she is calm and does then try to do zoomies in the house setting my naughty sister off my mum is not very impressed

Eeewwwww - what an absolutely miserable afternoon we have had weather wise but despite feeling damp and cold, we saw the gorgeous Pauuuuuuuline reserved. She is off on trial on Monday and most of you will be pleased to know she has got a planned name change! Thank you to our Wednesday walkers who also helped line up the dogs for me to weigh and nail clip all in turn. Alex spent time pottering about again and I drenched his skin with the aloe vera solution in a bit to help his bald bits. Still no results on the skip scrape......

Joey joined me to Elmdon Park today. He travelled well in the car and settled in the boot. He was a joy to walk, we passed lots of different dogs of all sizes and he behaved impeccably! He loved being out of the kennels, lots of different sights and smells. I would for him to find his forever home, If I was in a different position he would be home with me! X

Over the Rainbow Bridge
A big cuddle for Alex tonight Xxx He spent most of the day in the office in his pyjamas! He looked so cute. :)) He seems more settled now and he has his special "shake" back that I remember from when he first arrived at the kennels. If I didn't already have three beautiful Greyhounds I would love to take him home. He is a very happy, friendly lad. Adorable! Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
I took Alex for a check up at the vets this morning. He was such a good boy in the car. He sat for a while looking out of the back window, watching the world go by. :)) He was really happy to go into the vets and say Hello to everyone. Xxx He needs a very special home and lots of love. Xxx

What a sad sight Alex was today. He is such a friendly happy boy with the loveliest eyes. Everything crossed for him. Walks well on the lead with the other dogs . Hope his stay will be short one. Bless him Massive cuddles for him tonight.

Johny came with me to Elmdon Park yesterday. He was such a good boy. He loves a sniff and I think he stopped to check out every single blade of grass!! During our walk he met lots of other dogs, from small breeds (miniature cockerpoo) to larger breeds (Dalmatian) and was very well mannered. He said hello politely and we even walked with a smaller dog for a while with no problems in at all. When we got back to the kennels he jumped on his bed and immediately started to roach. He's such an easy going boy. Hoping that he won't have to wait much longer for his forever home xx

I agree with rubytwoshoes the Greyhound who took part in the Final of Crufts tonight is absolutely stunning! What a fabulous opportunity to show people what a beautiful breed of dog they are. :)) The Flat Coated Retriever who won Best in Show was gorgeous too!! :)) Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!

Despite there not being much in the diary today it seemed really busy! Thanks to our lovely volunteers all dogs had morning walks, this afternoon it was sand run fun, they thoroughly enjoyed it as did our volunteers! It stayed dry thankfully, although it was quite chilly, fleeces on, heating on and the inmates are all tucked up and curled up on their beds. Fingers crossed for some red and green signs this week, we are full to bursting! As always stay safe, warm and well.
