It was gold stars all round this morning for lovely clean kennels from all our residents. Johnny was as bright as a button after his neutering yesterday, and tucked into his breakfast. It was a great day by the looks of things - Paddy & Sahara all signed up, and both with lovely new names. And 2 lovely red signs for the lovely Rosie and returnee Robin - great news. So sad to see the beautiful Bill returned - it has been a difficult past couple of weeks, but Daybreaks is here for these gorgeous hounds and we will take good care of them until we can find them forever sofas again. xxx

Bill was returned today after over a year in his home. He has been returned due to no fault of his own.

    I’m Homed

After almost needing a lantern to guide me through the fog this morning, it turned into an absolutely beautiful Spring day - we all enjoyed the feel of the sun on our faces. Jo was off on the Vet run first thing, this time it was Johnny's turn. He had a waggy tail on his return, and apparently everyone at the Vets had fallen in love with him (quite right too). River, who was neutered yesterday, was as bright as a button today and we enjoyed lots of snuggles as, being post op, he can't go out for walks. I had to smile at Joe this morning, I was obviously taking too long to clean the kennels while the dogs were out having breakfast, so he pulled the dog bed down that was hanging over the bars of the feeding run, and promptly sat himself down on it!!! It was a fairly quiet day for visitors, just a few sand run bookings, so we could get health checks and grooming done, as well as 2 lovely walks in the sunshine. I actually managed to hang the washing out on the line - and get it dry too!! The residents spent another day without coats on, nice for their skin to have a breather and a break from being covered, but as they finish their supper it's coats back on ready to snuggle up in heated kennels as its forecast a chilly night. The weekend is on us again, and the diary looks packed for both days, so lets hope for some red or green signs by Monday morning - I shall raise my glass (or two) later. Whatever you're up to over the weekend, stay safe & enjoy - and let's hope this lovely weather lasts. Cheers!! Angie xx

It was a much better day today. It was nice to be able to take the dogs coats off for a while. Sure they all enjoyed the sunshine. :)) Sue very kindly took River to the vets to be neutered and have a dental this morning. He was very lively when Richard brought him back to the kennels. Such a very happy lad. :)) Xxx Timmy and Bee came in for a visit this morning. It was lovely to see them and their owner. Xxx Timmy loved everyone he met and decided to sit on Richard's feet so he couldn't get out of the office! Xxx Many thanks to Shirley and Richard for collecting a donation of food and treats from Pets at Home for our boys and girls. Xxx Capri, now called Sophie was officially adopted this afternoon! She is such a polite young lady and sat in the office very patiently whilst her paperwork was completed. :)) Xx Thanks so much to everyone for your help today! :)) Xxx

I logged into the website to do my Daybreaks Diary post and saw Daybreaks Ruth had already posted. I don't know if she mentioned how cold, wet damp and miserable it was, but it was flipping cold, wet, damp and miserable. Congratulations to Pauline for her reservation today, something good to brighten the day. Xx
