Totally agree Lucy and you're right, you are their whole world...in our case, jet was literally my whole world too and it's not the same place it was without him, such a huge part missing. We only got 7 years together, prayed so hard we'd get more. As I have said before I desperately need one of these boys or girls in my life again but as you have rightfully said below, our circumstances aren't quite right at the moment but as soon as they are I would be honoured if we were allowed to give another one their forever home. Goodness help them though with the mad House we live in! Xxx

Fabulous hounds at Crufts today. What a stunning greyhound was the best in group winner and what a pretty little whippet as runner up.

So sad to see so many returnees recently. I totally sympathise and understand that sometimes circumstances really change and it's so sad for all involved, but please if thinking about adopting remember that you owe it to your new family member to accommodate all of their needs, that they are not a fad, or a temporary family member. If you are not in the right position to adopt, just wait it out, remember they need stable environments, and a whole lot of love, so if you can not see yourself having the time for them a couple of years down the line, just wait until you know you DO have the consistent time for them for what could be 10+ years they're in your life. Again, I totally understand sometimes unfortunate circumstances do dictate the return of these beautiful dogs, but they are not a decision to be taken lightly, and when you adopt one of them, you become their whole world, even if they're only one part of yours.

Over the Rainbow Bridge
So sad to see this lovely lad come back today. He is understandably quite stressed at the moment, and we really hope he can get back out into a forever home again soon. He gets extra special cuddles tonight. Xxx

Such a shame to see this little poppet back. She is so sweet, and is understandably a bit bewildered at the moment, so let’s hope she will soon find herself another home. Big snuggles for her tonight. Xx

Bertie (Joe)
I’m Homed
Joe is such a character. We always put him in the big feeding run as he enjoys a good bounce and romp about - and tries to encourage the other dogs to join in his fun! He has been in kennels far too long, and should really have his own family to play with. Cuddles for him tonight. Xx

Jay (Johnny)
I’m Homed
Johnny is such a quiet, unassuming lad. He loves to spend time upside down in his bed, legs in the air - which is fine unless he has been out for a walk along wet pavements, and then he leaves very artistic, muddy trails all around the white kennel walls!!!! Cuddles for him tonight, it’s about time he was on his very own sofa. Xx

Monty (Joey)
I’m Homed
Joey joined me for some playtime in the sand run today. He loves to play, and delights in chasing after a toy you throw, then brings it back to you so you can throw it again. He is on a special diet due to his kidney problems and he really enjoys it, relishing every bit. His health issues certainly aren’t stopping him enjoying life - and he would love to be out in his forever home to carry on playing and having fun. Cuddles for him tonight. Xxx

Over the Rainbow Bridge
Winny had a lovely time in the sand run today. She has been such a quiet, withdrawn girl since her return, but she actually had a little play and enjoyed some zoomies. Fingers crossed that she is back out in a forever home very soon. Xx

I had a lovely time in the sand run with this fabulous boy today. He enjoyed a little trot around, with plenty of sniffing, then trotted back to me when he’d had enough and we went back to his kennel. There we enjoyed lots of snuggles, and each time I stopped cuddling he gave me the “paw of more” - I was there for some time!!! Big cuddles for this gentle soul tonight. Xxx

Daybreaks Diary!
I’m Homed
The sad week continued at Daybreaks with the return of Alex first thing this morning. Let's hope that all our returnees, who are understandably a bit stressed and bemused, will soon settle - but even better will find themselves back out on their own sofas again very soon.xx Jo was on the Vet run this morning - Alfie's turn today. He was still a bit wobbly on his return this afternoon and wasn't interested in his supper, hope he feels a bit brighter tomorrow. He will soon be off to his new home. x With an overflowing kennels, and a depleted Team, it was a very busy day, but all the residents had walks or playtime in the sand run. The weather deteriorated this afternoon, but fortunately everyone was back from the afternoon walk before the downpour started. There were lots of healthchecks, weighings and groomings to do, and we had several kind donations of towels and bedding. The diary is busy again this weekend, so keep everything crossed for our boys & girls - we need to see some red or green signs. I shall raise my glass later in the hope that forever homes are just around the corner for our lovely hounds. Whatever you are up to this weekend, as ever, stay safe - and dry!! Cheers!! Angie xx

I'm so very sorry to hear you have had to let your beautiful Ruby go. Xxx I know there were times during her life when she was very poorly, but you were always there for her and nursed her back to health. What a wonderful, long and happy life she has had with you. Obviously loved so very much, what a lucky girl! God Bless Ruby. Xxx Thinking of you all and sending lots of love, Kate Xxx

Very sadly due to a change in family circumstances Alex has come back to Daybreaks. He is house trained, walks well, is ok with children, ok with medium to large breeds but not small dogs.
